Katy Perry is hosting and performing at the We Can Survive breast cancer charity concert on October 23 in L.A., and she has enlisted some of her favorite female artists for the special event. The day after Prism drops, she’ll be joined at the Hollywood Bowl by Ellie Goulding, Tegan and Sara, Kacey Musgraves and Sara Bareilles as the ladies partner with the Young Survival Coalition, an organization dedicated to helping young women with breast cancer.

“These are all very powerful women that I really respect and look up to,” Perry said in an interview today (September 23). “I wanted them to come together to promote this supportive message and have a fantastic night full of great music. There’s so many great acts in this lineup. And I get to play a lot of songs off the record that will have come out the night before.”

Last week, Sara Bareilles spoke on the controversy over the similarities between “Roar” and her own song “Brave,” and said she and Katy joked about recording a mashup to defuse the issue once and for all. Which, of course, means we’re holding out hope that the two singers will join up on stage at this event and perform their hits in a live mashup/medley.

Tickets for the concert go on sale September 27 through Ticketmaster.
