Nicki Minaj, booty-clapper and occasional rapper, was recently called on to add a verse to Busta Rhymes‘ poetic new single “#Twerkit”. It wasn’t particularly good (not that the song was great to start with) but at least she has an excuse. In behind-the-scenes footage, the scheduled BET performer reveals that she only had one day to record her vocal – and shoot the video.
We see the tracksuit-clad femcee doing her thing in the studio before shooting the breeze with DJ Khaled. The pair reunite on set the following day, where Nicki shakes her biggest asset and models some of the largest gold chains ever captured on film. A highlight is the “I’m Out” diva’s conversation with “#Twerkit” producer Pharrell in the parking lot. They talk about “Big Booty Judys” and working together again. More »
The guys from Big Time Rush don’t have a lot of spare time. When they’re not filming their hit Nickelodeon show, the heartthrobs are working on songs in the studio or rehearsing for their joint-tour with Victoria Justice. That probably explains why the video for “24/seven” is basically just footage of the guys hanging out. It happens so rarely that it had to be documented for posterity!
So how do the BTR-boys chill? Well, they just do normal guy things like practice choreography, compare musculature in the mirror and pull goofy faces. The colorful dance sequence is cute and there are lots of man-hugs and practical jokes, so it’s nice to see that they’re keeping the bromance alive. More »

The best thing about Pitbull‘s sold-out show at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles last night (June 18) was a surprise appearance from repeat-collaborator Jennifer Lopez. Mr. Worldwide shared the stage with friends Chris Brown and Enrique Iglesias but saved the best for last, bringing out J.Lo for the firework-assisted finale.
Miami’s favorite son helped Jennifer perform current single “Live It Up” and probably did a very good job. It’s impossible to tell because all eyes were on the former American Idol judge as she danced up a storm, showing off rock-hard abs and curves that could make a grown man cry. Seriously, that body is a weapon of mass destruction. More »
Did you know designer Tommy Hilfiger has a rapper son who goes by the name Ricky Hil? We think maybe we knew, but we might have just been thinking of Tom Hanks‘ rapper son who goes by the name Chet Haze. The point is, Ricky Hil exists, and somehow he got reclusive Canadian creep-wave crooner The Weeknd to appear in his music video for “Nomads.”
As with several of Abel Tesfaye‘s guest spots, the singer is given the biggest chunk of mic time and totally steals the spotlight from the primary artist. As for Ricky Hil, he doesn’t exactly rap here, nor does he really sing. It’s more of a strained, cigarette-addled whisper bringing to mind Magda from There’s Something About Mary. When it’s all combined with the seedy video, though, it comes together surprisingly well! Check it out up top. More »
