Adele Becomes First UK Artist To Land A Top 10 Single In The U.S. In 2011

April 6th, 2011 // Leave a Comment

While Adele’s sophomore album 21 has so far racked up three non-consecutive weeks at #1 on Billboard‘s Top 200 album chart, it wasn’t until this week that the London songstress finally saw her single “Rolling In The Deep” crack the Top 10 of the Hot 100 (it climbs to #10 on the chart that will be published tomorrow, which also finds Katy Perry’s “E.T.” at #1 for a second week). This not only gives the Grammy winner her first Top 10 American hit, it’s also the first single by a UK artist to reach the upper tier of the Hot 100 in 2011. We think Elle honoree Adele should take a brief break from the heartache of her music to celebrate!
