Natalia Kills’ ‘Perfectionist’ To Drop August 16

June 7th, 2011 // 5 Comments

Natalia Kills has announced that her debut album Perfectionist will be released here in The States on August 16, though you’ll probably hear it way before that — the disc drops in the UK on July 18, and, like pretty much all albums nowadays, it’ll find its way to the Internet sooner than later. (It’s okay — Natalia knows how to roll with the inevitable leak.) Producers on the “Wonderland” singer’s LP include Martin “Cherry Cherry Boom Boom” Kierszenbaum, Akon, Fernando Garibay and our own Digging producer Jeff Bhasker. Will you be picking it up?

Britney Spears Nods To Her Disney Past On “I Wanna Go” Single Cover

June 6th, 2011 // 6 Comments

Looks like the previous hum-drum single art for Britney Spears’ “I Wanna Go” was either a fake or just not interesting enough, because we get a glossy new pic of Brit-Brit on the second coming of the song’s cover art. In the photo, the femme fatale wears rainbow extensions as well as a midriff-baring tank adorned with a skull-with-Mickey-ears. Ha! But her best accessory? A smile that doesn’t look completely forced.

Paramore Lurk In The Shadows Of Their “Monster” Single Cover Art

June 1st, 2011 // Leave a Comment

Paramore’s last bandmates standing Hayley Williams, Taylor York, and Jeremy Davis stand in silhouette on the cover art of their new single “Monster”, the lead track from the Transformers: Dark Of The Moon soundtrack. The band stands defiantly in a tunnel, facing an ominous white light — and the rest of their careers as a trio instead of a quintet. The song drops on June 7, and the soundtrack for the third robots-in-disguise blockbuster is released on June 14.

Lil Wayne Turns His Back On His “How To Love” Single Art

May 29th, 2011 // 1 Comment

We were surprised when Lil Wayne exposed us to the softer side of Weezy on his new single “How To Love.” Now it appears that that “softer side” is his backside, according to the single artwork. The track’s single sleeve depicts the soon-to-be-unplugged rapper with arms wide open, which is nice and all — but if the “Dirty Dancer” really wants to tell us “how to love,” couldn’t he at least show up with some flowers and look us in the eye? Catch the full-sized artwork after the jump.

Selena Gomez Aims For A Retro Look In Her “Bang Bang Bang” Single Sleeve

May 29th, 2011 // 3 Comments

Who’s that very grown up-looking vixen on the single sleeve for the new song “Bang Bang Bang”? Surely it’s not… Selena Gomez? But of course it is — Justin Bieber’s beach babe dons a retro look (kneeling atop a rather retro rug) for her upcoming single, looking sultry and classy and a little bit like an old glamor shot of our mom she’s hidden away in a drawer. The cover art is definitely a throwback to old record covers of the 60′s (perhaps in honor of Cher’s similarly-titled 1966 single “Bang Bang”), while the full album cover for When The Sun Goes Down is a distinct tribute to the 20′s. So much nostalgia for a girl born in the 90′s! See the full-sized pic after the jump.

Lupe Fiasco and Trey Songz have a lady caught between them on the cover art of “Out Of My Head”, the third single from Lupe’s Lasers. Thankfully, Songz realized this was not an appropriate time to show off his love faces and kept his countenance subdued for the single art. Katy Perry Is Geek Chic On Her “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)” Single Cover

May 18th, 2011 // Leave a Comment

The cover art for Katy Perry’s “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)” single is a perfectly nerdy compliment to that of the remix single. Here, a metal-mouthed ’80s Katy looks to be writing in her diary while daydreaming of being a totally rad mall queen. It’s beginning to look like Ms. Perry spent last Friday night geeking out to a John Hughes movie marathon. Let’s just hope she remembered to put her retainer in before she passed out on the beanbag in her parents’ basement!

It seems like just yesterday the Jonas Brothers were taking over the tween corner of the pop world as a fresh-faced trio, and now all three young men are focusing on their own separate lives.
