Lloyd, “Girls Around The World (ft. Lil Wayne)”

Lloyd and Lil Wayne teamed for one of my favorite jams last year, the caddish “You,” and by lifting a classic beat and letting Lloyd’s falsetto fly, they’ve raised their own bar. MORE »

Duffy, “Mercy”

All the attention lavished on this new-model Dusty Springfield/Lulu concerns the sound of her voice (say it again: more Lulu than Dusty). MORE »

i liek the talk-rappy part best, i think mostly because it's mixed so low.

Kardinall Offishall, “Dangerous (feat. Akon)”

There’s really nothing to “Dangerous”: A simple synth line, an uncomplicated beat, Akon doing his Akon thing on the chorus, and Kardinall Offishall pulling off a mix of dancehall and Trick Daddy. MORE »
