Fergie’s Axl Rose Obsession Leads Her To Cover ‘Paradise City’

It’s been a minute since we first learned that Fergie had added her leather-clad booty to the treasure trove of artists contributing to Slash’s upcoming debut solo outing, Slash & Friends. She’s in a pool with guesting Slash pals that includes such rock luminaries as Ozzy Osbourne, Alice Cooper, Dave Grohl and—where you been girl?— Nicole Scherzinger.
Prefix has posted a clip of Fergie and Cypress Hill’s reinterpretation of Guns N’ Roses’ classic “Paradise City” from Slash & Friends—and, yes, it’s just as kitchen-sinkish as the best/worst stuff on Chinese Democracy. Hear it after the jump! MORE »

Diddy Rolls With Dirty Money In The ‘Love Come Down’ Video
For those still not able to move on since the dismantling of Danity Kane, at least there’s new group Dirty Money to ease your anguish. The heavyweight trio formed earlier this year and consists of former DK member Dawn Richards, her original mentor Diddy and Kalenna Harper.
And, hark—Dirty Money’s video for single “Love Come Down” (sadly, not an Evelyn “Champagne” King cover) made it’s way onto XXLMag.com today. Check out the clip of the Jay-Z-borrowing song below: MORE »

Berlin To Bono: “Tear Down This Wall… No, The One Your Show Just Forced The Building Of”
As part of MTV’s Katy Perry-hosted celebration of the Berlin Wall’s destruction in the wall’s former home city this week, U2 will play a free show at the Brandenburg Gate later today. Freedom and free stuff! Yay! But with freedom comes responsibility, and those people who didn’t get their act together to get tickets for the gig—they, unsurprisingly, went pretty quickly—will have to watch on TV at home. They can’t even head down to the area near the Gate and try and hear the show… because a 12-foot fence draped with white sheets is being thrown up so ticketless people will have to stay at home and drive up the telecast’s ratings. Kiss, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and LL Cool J lead this year’s roster of first-time nominees for Jann Wenner’s shrine to his concept of “rock and roll,” the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. This year’s nominations total 12, with returnees like the Stooges, ABBA, and Donna Summer competing with the aforementioned newbies. Which nominees are the most likely to pass muster with the shadowy group who decides these sorts of things? Our odds after the jump. MORE »

Robbie Williams Goes Across The Universe
The video for Robbie Williams’ Trevor Horn-produced comeback single “Bodies” is out, and it follows a pretty simple storyline: Williams is trying to get out of the desert, first by motorbike (which runs out of gas), then by car (which just so happens to be driven by a pretty lady, who gives him some company once night falls), then by plane (during which he flouts safety regulations and engages in a little bit of two-stepping on the wing). Interesting that despite the desert setting and the lyrical lamenting of just wanting to look good naked, Williams is clad pretty fully for most of the video. (Oh well!) Clip after the jump. MORE »

Drake Will Not Rest
Despite re-aggravating a particularly nasty knee injury on Friday and blogging about impending surgery to fix his problems, nascent hip-hop superstar Aubrey “Drake” Graham took to the stage last night in Toronto, where the America’s Most Wanted tour—whose roster he was on before he re-injured his knee over the weekend—was performing at the Molson Amphitheatre. Drake walked around onstage with the assistance of a cane, and performed his current Hot 100 smash “Best I Ever Had” while sitting down. A few clips from the evening after the jump. MORE »
