Get Your Brag On: Name Your Best Concert Experience

Looking for Superchunk videos reminded me of what was probably the most enjoyable show I’ve ever seen, the Superchunk/Polvo bill at Tucson’s Downtown Performance Center in 1994. MORE »

Rage Against the Machine-Roxy Theatre 1999, Hollywood
I was the first person to win tickets for RAGE AT THE ROXY
on KROQ(it is a shame what has happened to that radio station)
Anyway, small venue, hot as hell,Zack fell on at least one occasion. Towards the end of the show I was drinking

Please Help Me Enjoy A Scorching Hot Afternoon In A Parking Lot

logo.gifSo! Tomorrow I’ll be at the Warped Tour, which brings its traveling road show to the parking lot of Nassau Coliseum, home of the Islanders and the very first concert I saw. While there are some acts that I’m definitely excited to see (The Academy Is…, Against Me!, a couple of other acts that don’t have any punctuation in their name) and some that will be a fine excuse for a smoothie break (Katy [insert swear word here] Perry), there are also many that I don’t really know too much about or at least don’t have much of a bearing on beyond a glimpse in a TV ad. I would see Reel Big Fish and Pennywise, and then avoid any band with punctuation marks in their name. In my own personal opining, I'd save my dollars and go see Between the Buried and Me at some other venue for half the price. Now they put on an excellent show, as long as there are no seats in audience.
