The first clip of Kylie Minogue’s appearance in the A.R. Rahman-directed film Blue—which, according to the trailer, will be “India’s biggest underwater thriller”—has come out. “Chiggy Wiggy,” from what I can tell from this all-too-brief clip, is very very catchy, the sort of song that I can see inspiring multiple YouTube bedroom-dance tributes. Fall Out Boy’s “Headfirst Slide Into Cooperstown On A Bad Bet” now has a video, a clip that was apparently shot in the space of four hours and that fuses Weekend At Bernie’s with a rollercoaster-filled trip to the amusement park. (Yes, the brief Absolute Punk-referencing clip featuring Wentz’s body being discovered by Spencer Smith and Brendon Urie of Panic! At The Disco that leaked last week was a trailer for the video.) The Backstreet Boys Lead A Monster Mash

The Backstreet Boys’ video for the fantastically throwbacky “Straight Through My Heart” casts the boybanders in the role of do-goody vampires, protecting loft parties from women who look like they wandered in from a Cat People remake but who are actually creatures of the night themselves. The question that lingers, of course, is: Who would book the Backstreet Boys at a sweaty, fire-code-violating loft party… and can I maybe get on their guest list? Clip after the jump!

Jay-Z, Rihanna, And Kanye West Don’t Need Another Hero

The video for the Jay-Z/Rihanna/Kanye West collaboration about being famous, “Run This Town,” has the feel of some sort of futuristic populist rally in which the three supernovas entrance fire-wielding mobs with tales of how it’s really hard-slash-awesome out there for the well-known. (Especially when their all-star collaborations are kept from their rightful place at the top of the charts by the likes of Fergie and Miley Cyrus!) The video is stylized to here and back—not surprising, given the three people involved—but was it worthy of a trailer? Probably not. Clip after the jump.

Was the whole “ooh, MGMT is going to be on the record” rumor just an attempt to make BP3 as highly bloggable as possible? Suckers!

R. Kelly And Keri Hilson Make Love On The Radio

The push for R. Kelly’s forthcoming Untitled has begun in earnest, with the Pied Piper of R & B inviting bloggers over to his memorabilia-crammed house for the purpose of sampling his record and announcing tour dates. There’s also a video for the Kells/Keri Hilson collaboration “Number One,” in which really good sex is compared to topping the charts; the clip embraces the romantic side of radio, with both singers cooing the words to the track while in moodily lit studios located approximately 710 miles apart from one another. Paramore Gets Trapped In The Closet

Paramore’s video for “Ignorance,” the punchy first single from their forthcoming album Brand New Eyes, is a pretty straightforward affair with an overwhelming sense of claustrophobia; for most of the clip the band’s stuck in a closet with only a lightbulb brandished by lead singer Hayley Williams to guide them, while in other shots Williams sports some very Gwen Stefani-esque bondage gear while being confined by what looks like a giant test-tube. The song is a bit darker than most of the fare from the band’s previous full-length Riot!, and I’m pretty amped to hear where the group will do with its unbridled energy and Williams’ unabashed love for the Twilight-sanitized version of this world’s “dark side.” Clip after the jump.

Fall Out Boy Set Sail

The pre-release campaign for Fall Out Boy’s “What A Catch, Donnie” video, the latest clip from Folie à Deux, has nearly rivaled that of The Blair Witch Project as far as suspense goes. Is it a sign that the band’s breaking up? Or taking a long hiatus? Well, now the nautical-themed “Catch,” which has lead singer Patrick Stump crooning the tune while hanging out with a bird on a boat (that thankfully has a piano), is out, and I’m sure it’ll be parsed to no end by fans. Especially because of its ending—which, as Pete Wentz told MTV, is “a bit of a cliffhanger, which is kind of cool.” I’ll probably watch it a few more times before any hidden meanings float to the surface, but you can dive right in after the jump.

Maxwell Can’t Quit It

Maxwell’s video for the second single from his outstanding (and commercially successful) album BLACKsummer’snight, “Bad Habits,” premiered this morning, and oh Lord is it steamy. While the lyrics draw a parallel between an out-of-control sexual relationship and addiction, the video is a four-minute examination (and maybe justification?) for affairs that might not seem like logistical good ideas—i.e., sometimes the heat that’s generated by the two parties is just too much to resist. Even if they make ex post facto run-ins at fancy restaurants super-awkward! Clip after the jump.

Mistah F.A.B. Will Direct-Message His Way Into Your Hearts

One of the runners-up for our Top 12 Songs About The Internet list was Mistah F.A.B.’s “Hit Me On Twitter,” an ode to the microblogging service. The video is pretty cute; it’s a brightly colored romp through Mistah F.A.B.’s hometown of Oakland that turns each character’s Twitter into a series of supershort thought bubbles, where people can think about the attractiveness of people they run into, the annoyances presented by others, and, of course, the old blogger standby of what they’re having for lunch. Note the part of the track that ticks off all the other social-networking services that have fallen in the wake of Twitter’s brevity-fueled high-speed navelgazing. All I’m gonna say is, Evan Williams was never getting shout-outs when he was just “the dude who helped come up with Blogger.”
