Nicki Minaj Crosses The Desert To Stage “Massive Attack” For Her Video

Wed Mar 31 2010 by Idolator Staff
Is Nicki Minaj really rap's next superstar, or is she all hype? The just-released video for "Massive Attack" doesn't provide a very satisfying answer. Even after watching the Hype Williams-directed clip — loaded with wacky wigs, a pink Lamborghini, cameos by model/Kanye West arm-candy Amber Rose and Lil Wayne/Nicki mentor Birdman — we're not sure this was the best way for the Barbie-styled rhymer to stake her claim to fame as a performer in her own right. Is this Nicki's first big misstep? More »

Lady Gaga Gets Kid-Friendly With Songs For Children’s Audiobook

Wed Mar 31 2010 by Becky Bain
Fox News might think Lady Gaga is "poisoning our children" (commence eye roll... now), but others are more than happy to bring Gaga's pop into their kids' lives. After the jump, listen to two tracks Gaga recorded back in her hair-bow-rocking days for children's audiobook Portal in the Park (just don't expect to hear the prequel to "Bad Romance" or anything stylistically like it). LL Cool J And His “Fledgling Acting Career” Do Not Want To Be Associated With Sarah Palin

Wed Mar 31 2010 by Becky Bain
Fox News isn't making many friends in the music industry lately. After Fox News commentator Sandy Rios likened Lady Gaga to child molesters (seriously, see it for yourself), the news network has drawn the ire of LL Cool J and Toby Keith for linking both artists to Sarah Palin in an upcoming special. Mariah Carey’s Life May Be A Musical One Sweet Day

Wed Mar 31 2010 by Robbie Daw
Something tells us this news is just a sweet, sweet fantasy, baby. But whatever—we'll go along with it. Celebuzz has picked up on reports that whistle-register squeal bird Mariah Carey has high hopes that her life will soon be played out under the stage lights of the Great White Way. That's right, folks—Mariah Carey: The Musical. Now doesn't that just sound like fantasy stardust? But wait—there's more! More »

PHOTOS: Justin Bieber Forgets His Manners On The Road

Wed Mar 31 2010 by Idolator Staff

The Internet is convinced that this gal is Billboard chart-topper Justin Bieber’s main squeeze. Before you have a “Cody” moment over the emergence of photos of Bieber and an older ladyfriend, relax. Look carefully at those shots, taken last night outside the Black Eyed Peas performance in Los Angeles. For one thing, the rose-bearing heartthrob didn’t even hold the door for this woman, and climbed into the back of this SUV first. So ungentlemanly — would Bieber do that to his girlfriend? No. And our hunch was right. Justin’s manager, Scooter Braun (you know, the guy who was arrested for NOT tweeting), tweeted earlier today that the woman seen with Biebs is his (Scooter’s) girlfriend. Flip through the gallery and see the woman who is not Justin’s baby. More »

…And Nothing Was Ever The Same Again After The “Single Ladies” Devastation

Wed Mar 31 2010 by Robbie Daw
Man, all this crying little kid wanted to do was bop around to Beyonce's "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)" in the car with his sister. But that's when his father turned around from the driver's seat and crushed the poor tyke's hopes—and, if we're being honest, very soul—by informing him that the boy is not, in fact, a single lady. Mean Ol' Dad! Watch the "'Single Ladies' Devastation" below. And hang in there, little lady! More »

Today In ‘Idol’: Siobhan Magnus Cries While Tim Urban Keeps Laughing

Wed Mar 31 2010 by Becky Bain
:: We pretty much agreed with everything our Idol guest blogger Elliott Yamin said about the Top 10. Do you? Give the former Idol finalist's recap a read-through. [Idolator]

:: Check out a fly-on-the-wall look at what went on backstage during last night's performances—Siobhan had a good cry, Crystal kept her heels on, a giggling Tim Urban dishes about his comebacks, and Casey James loved his song pick of "Hold On, I'm Coming" so much, he set it as his ring tone. [Idol Tracker]

:: Oh, how the tables have turned—Kelly Clarkson will be a guest judge on Superstar K, South Korea's version of American Idol. Will she be a meanie-headed Simon, a loopy-headed Paula, a pun-loving Ellen, a dawg-house doting Randy, or just fill a superfluous role at the judge's panel like Kara? We can't wait to find out! [K Pop Today]

:: The Dish Network obviously isn't missing Paula Abdul much, as they described the show as starring "Ellen DeGeneres and some other people." [VFTW]

:: Another reason to be GLAAD—Adam Lambert will perform at the 21st Annual GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles. He's also nominated for Oustanding Music Artist, but he's up against Lady Gaga. We'd love for there to be a tie, but we know how Adam feels about being continuously pitted against Ms. Gaga. [Hollywood Gossip]

Alex Lambert Resurfaces With A New Haircut In The ‘If I Can Dream’ House

Wed Mar 31 2010 by Robbie Daw
Folks, we're still not over the untimely exit of Lilly Scott from American Idol a few weeks back. And, to some extent, the axing of Alex Lambert was all too abrupt, as well. So when Alex resurfaced a week later on The Ellen DeGeneres show to croon a pretty awesome cover Mario's "Let Me Love You," we figured it wouldn't be the last we'd be hearing from him. Cut to tomorrow, when Lambert will be stepping into the "Dream House" on the brand new Simon Fuller-created web series, If I Can Dream.

And, no—you're not seeing things. Alex has his shirt hanging open in that promo shot. But more shocking: the mullet is gone! More »

CAPTION THIS: Justin Bieber, Michael Jackson And Ryan Seacrest In 3-D

Wed Mar 31 2010 by Erika Brooks Adickman
Justin Bieber and Ryan Seacrest pose in front of the newly re-opened Captain EO 3-D attraction at Disneyland. Though the self-styled King of Pop is gone, and this movie poster is more than 20 years old, one thing is clear: Michael Jackson is the only person in this photo with any dignity. Our winner from last week's contest is coming shortly. Got an LOL-worthy caption for this photo? Leave it in the comments and the winning remark will be posted on our front page next week!
