Miley Cyrus – Her Hair Can’t Be Tamed

June 13th, 2013 // Leave a Comment

What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you think about pop legend Miley Cyrus? (After her timeless tunes, of course). It could be Hannah Montana, cinema classic LOL or even that twerkin’ unicorn but, for us, it’s her trend-setting hair.

From long, luscious locks to a short, pixie cut – Miley’s head has experienced it all. And, somewhat annoyingly for bad hair survivors, she makes every style work. We’ve put together a gallery of the Juicy J stan’s most iconic looks. You know, just to underline the fact that the titan of tresses can do no wrong. More »

AlunaGeorge Drops New, Improved “You Know You Like It” Video

June 13th, 2013 // Leave a Comment
We Like It!

British duo AlunaGeorge surprised fans today with a second, radically-improved video for their old/new single “You Know You Like It”. Let me explain. The slinky slice of R&B-infused electro-pop first hit the net in 2011 with a simple black-and-white visual. Two years later Aluna Francis and George Reid give the clip a colourful overhaul to promote their debut album Body Music, due July 29.

The nostalgic clip is a cute nod to ’90s teen culture. There is TLC-worthy choreography, costumes straight from The Fresh Price Of Bel-Air and an empty swimming pool where all the cool kids hang out and do awesome things like skate and look disillusioned. More »

Miley Cyrus Joins Robin Thicke, Pharrell & Leah LaBelle On Stage For “Blurred Lines”

June 13th, 2013 // Leave a Comment

Just when you thought it was safe for performers to pursue their trade without Miley Cyrus upstaging them, the impromptu-twerker struck again – this time stealing Robin Thicke, Pharrell and Leah LaBelle‘s collective shine at the Myspace party in LA last night (June 12).

The congregated celebrities looked on in awe as Miley joined the trio on stage to dance along to “Blurred Lines”, showing off her dazzling half-jeans/half-sweatpants. No doubt, Robin went home to scour the internet for a pair. More »

Kylie Minogue – Cooking Up Hits With Timbaland?

June 13th, 2013 // 2 Comments

Kylie Minogue has receipts for days. The Australian pop deity is a global phenomenon – landing more than 30 top 10 hits in the UK, not to mention hitting the number one spot in her homeland a record 10 times. Now she firmly has her sights set on the American market.

Since signing to Roc Nation in February, the skirt-dropping diva has wasted no time networking with Jay-Z‘s clique, hitting the studio with heavyweights like Pharrell and now, according to The New York Times, with Timbaland. More »

Emerging R&B singer B. Smyth has some friends in high places. For his first single, “Leggo,” he enlisted feature king 2 Chainz. Now he has dropped “Win Win,” produced by Mike WiLL Made It and featuring Future. Unlike that first banger, this one’s a syrupy jam (to go with Future’s syrupy delivery) and shows that this Motown Records signee has the vocal chops to attract these established  guests.

“Win Win” is the lead track off B. Smyth Presents: The Florida Files, the singer’s debut mixtape. Scratch that, it’s a visual mixtape — Smyth will be releasing one music video per week for the next six weeks, leading up to the July 30 release of the full mixtape/short film. Check out the first track below. More »

Justin Timberlake – Not On His Suit & Tie Shit At Myspace Party In LA

June 13th, 2013 // Leave a Comment

We’re guessing there were no mirrors in Justin Timberlake‘s hotel room last night (June 12). The usually suave singer turned up to the Myspace relaunch party looking less than his best – leaving sexy at home with a beanie and dull grey shirt.

While the guy who heralded the rebirth of the social networking giant with a tweet kept it casual, other guests went to a little more effort. JoJo showed off her toned abs, Vanessa Hudgens rocked a similar outfit to Miley Cyrus – only without the crazy pants – and Nervo brought some high fashion glamour to the red carpet. Miley Cyrus Gives Good Face On The Myspace Red Carpet: Her 8 Best Poses

June 13th, 2013 // Leave a Comment

Is Miley Cyrus even old enough to remember Myspace? Probably not but the twerk-enthusiast still ruled the red carpet at the social networking site’s relaunch party last night (June 12) at the El Rey Theater in Los Angeles. She rocked another high fashion look – fearlessly teaming a leather bra and jacket with an oddball jean/sweatpant combination.

We all know the “We Can’t Stop” singer has a great stylist but someone has been teaching Miley the art of posing. Some of these poses are straight from RuPaul‘s guide to red carpet glamour. Let us know which exquisite stance took your fancy after the jump. More »

3OH!3′s ‘Omens’: Stream Their New Album

June 13th, 2013 // Leave a Comment
3OH3 Omens

It’s been a minute since 3OH!3 grabbed our attention on their last album, 2010′s Streets Of Gold, which featured the lead single “My First Kiss (ft. Ke$ha).” They’re back with Omens, and for their first album in three years, the rambunctious bro-rappers take a mature turn, both sonically and lyrically. Of course, songs like “Don’t Trust Me” wouldn’t stay in style forever, but as we’ve previously noted, singles like “Youngblood” and “Back to Life” are more reminiscent of alternative pop bands like The Naked and Famous.

The new 3OH!3 might be less polarizing and a little more introspective, but the pop hooks are as strong as ever. And don’t worry:  there’s still some classic 3OH!3 to be found on tracks like “Two Girlfriends” and “Eyes Closed.” Omens is out June 18, but you can hear it in full right now on SoundCloud.
