@Al Shipley: And you got to remember that one of Alice In Chains' best song ("Got Me Wrong") hit the Modern Rock Chain only because it was on the "Clerks" soundtrack.
But each of the Big Four Seatlle Bands (Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains and Soundgarden) and the California band that ripped them off (Stone Temple Pilots) all did well on both charts.

I liked what Pitchfork wrote about this: Yes, he will probably have to play "Born in the USA" to a billion people who don't get that it's NOT a super patriotic song about how America is great but about how much America sucks.
And then some bozo at FOX News who has never heard more than the chorus will criticize Springsteen for "changing the lyrics" to make a "political point".

You know, I haven't even heard this new Offspring #1 once (I do know the chorus for "Hit That" but the rest of that song is a blur to me).
Also, the new Kings of Leon song "Sex on Fire" is in the Modern Rock Top 20 now (they've only had one other song to chart on the Modern Rock Tracks - no, not "Molly's Chambers", "Four Kicks" or "On Call" - but the now semi-forgotten "The Bucket"), and the new Oasis song "The Shock of the Lightning" (easily their best track since "Gas Panic!" is probably gonna hit the Top 10 soon.
