The Jesus & Mary Chain.
I realise they've been recycling the same three chords and four songs since day one; I recognise that their whole Stooges-do-Velvets-do-Motown schtick could have easily been concocted in a lab...
However, their entire output is beyond criticism.

The quest to fill empty Balkan plinths without offending anyone is one of the most fascinating cultural phenomena of the past decade.
Marley's gotta be one of the best choices so far, even if the statue does look a bit like a life-size collector's figurine.

I think Einsturzende Neubauten nailed the future of the live album some years ago - buy a recording of the show you just saw at the merch table afterwards.
Last truly great general release live album IMHO was K'Naan's "The Dusty Foot on the Road".
