Oh, awesome. I'm a Yankees fan, so the outcome of the WS only mattered to me if the winning team was from the East, so, thanks. :-) I have fam in South Jersey too, all Phillies fans, I still remember their WCAU (right?) bumper stickers from back in the day, when Schmidt still played. Anyhow, happy for y'all, and of course happy Obama WON!

Oh no---it was a joke because she constantly links stuff from her friend's blogs (mostly Gavin, sometimes Rich) in lieu of actual, y'know, WRITING. So basically she doesn't actually write much and sits around watching TV, and, for some reasons gets paid writing a one paragraph summary of each show. God bless America.

Ah. I have no such bad luck with Vanderbilt alumni, though I only know of two, & each from the inter-net. Of course, the inimitable C'lay -- he still writes, now? -- & a poster at a music board who calls himself gauchebag. & the latter, whom I know better, is, sure, a fan of the Liars, but apart that, cool. Roots for Arsenal, crashes on a futon in Brooklyn for 300$ a month, & takes care of his grandfather (?) in Bulgaria. Good guy.

No, no, Mike Jacobs is not all that bright. Why do you seem surprised he biffed that grounder, then?
(Seriously, look at his headshot next time he's at bat. OHG HEG GOT DAT DUMB.)

The friend request you got was from me...not some random creepy guy. Well, at least not random anyway.

I was inducted into the Phillies Fan Club when I married a yank. I was drug to many games, including the World Series, and learned my way!
We've been up to a few games this season, including the Meet The Player Day (our son, 10, is a diehard fan - it was bred into his DNA). Fun times!!
Oh, during those playoffs ('94), I was the one who "accidentally" knocked a stupid Brave fan down the stairs. Oooops.

I was in 108, row 13, on the field behind first. Friend of the wife's got them. I go when I can, which is impossible most weeknights

I graduated in '97, it was the 3rd stop on my college train, one year at Chatham as well. I know Shadyside well. I don't hang around Deadspin all too often but as a girl growing in Pgh, sports is genetic in me whether I like it or not (I can practically call plays in my sleep). It's a small town so eventually some sports hero ends up on your paper route or at church next to you. Fun times! I'm definitely grabbing you at the next meet up!

Where in Pittsburgh are you from? South Hills here and Pitt grad to boot. Sarcastro and Mathnet are 'burgers as well!

@Clare: Hello! I am not yet on Facebook but I'm working on it, I just got a tumblr and am adjusting to that nicely so in a few days I'll probably do the FB thing as well.
How have you been? Were you anywhere near as destroyed as I was after Friday? WHAT WAS I THINKING?
Well, it's already been long enough that I'm looking forward to next time. :-)
