by limited edition techcruch meant the sort of limited runs that radiohead did with "in rainbows" (that post was in response to the debut of the album) not a 200k run that is so high it's not really much of a limited edition.

while this subject certainly makes for a good debate, i think you're going to far when you say ISPs will "summarily kick them off if they note anything 'suspicious.'" McGuinness, the French government and the IFPI have talked about cracking down on mass infringers, not the casual track-here-and-there types.
