Honestly, to me, even more obnoxious than the myopic argument of "they use elements of African music so they're cultural rapists" is this whole dismissive "their music is pleasant and cute but it's poppy and shallow and in three weeks I'll be listening to something meaningful again." It's just infuriatingly snobby...as if addictive melodies and great pop arrangements happen every day.
