Pet Shop Boys, Elysium
Release Date: September 11
What To Expect: It's been over three years since Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe released their previous LP, the Grammy-nominated Yes. In that time, the duo toured the globe, scored a London ballet, released both a greatest hits set and two-disc B-sides collection and performed at the Olympics. The Andrew Dawson-co-produced Elysium, the first Pet Shop Boys album recorded in Los Angeles, promises to be a somewhat more mellow affair than their two previous studio LPs, as evidenced by lead single "Winner" and the haunting album track "Invisible". Second single "Leaving" finds the duo doing what they do best — balancing somber lyrics with lush melodies.
