Women About To Pop: Foxes
Louisa Rose Allen, better known to pop fans as Foxes, moved to London to study music but dropped out soon after. This story could have had a tragic ending with the 22-year-old busking on street corners for change but she ended up landing a record deal with Neon Gold instead. That UK indie-pop label has already brought us Ellie Goulding and Marina & The Diamonds, which gives you some idea of the mysterious Brit’s pedigree. She made a huge first impression with her beautifully despondent debut single “Youth” and recently released an equally impressive EP called Warrior. Given the quality of her dreamy synth-soaked material and soaring voice, you can’t help but think it’s only a matter of time before Foxes follows her labelmates to the top of the charts.
