Patrick Stump Brings “This City” To ‘The Tonight Show’
Wed Nov 16 2011 by Becky Bain
Patrick Stump was originally supposed to appear on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno a few weeks ago, but got bumped because President Obama decided he wanted to chit-chat with Jay. (The nerve!) Stump finally got his chance to shine on the late night talk show while wearing a flashy cobalt blue suit (complete with one of his favorite things — a matching bowtie!) as he performed "This City". The Soul Punk singer sounded phenomenal, though we're itching for a new single at this point. The bubbly ode to drinking, "Run Dry", would be our pick. Nevertheless, check out the boy in bright blue below!

Popping Up: Phlo Finister
Wed Nov 16 2011 by Idolator Staff
Popping Up is our recurring look at new artists making noise on the music landscape. Because, hey—Madonna and Britney were once unknown, too.
Phlo Finister suffered such self-doubt as a child that, when forced to perform at her family church, she would sing to the faithful with tears streaming down her face.
Now 20, the Hollywood-based singer is watching her star soar — but this time, she's wearing it well. And why not? In the last couple of years, she's worked as a model, a fashion editor for Persona and music industry stylist, shaping a sound that re-interprets the 1960s youthquaker cultural movement embodied by Edie Sedgwick and Jean Shrimpton.
Phlo's sound draws in equal measure from back-in-the-day R&B and futuristic dark pop, with her honeyed vocals rising over polished original productions and ingenious mashups (Garbage's "#1 Crush" + 2Pac's "Hail Mary"?). She just released the six-song EP Crown Gold, her second collection of the year, and we're expecting her to be popping up all over the place in the months ahead. Learn more and grab a free download below. More »

Cobra Starship & Sabi Do Just What They Like On ‘Dancing With The Stars’
Wed Nov 16 2011 by Robbie Daw
Cobra Starship and Sabi's "You Make Me Feel..." is a bona fide smash, and since the MTV Video Music Awards this past summer, they've been sporadically parading onto TV shows — last night's episode of Dancing With The Stars included — and performing the clubby jam. Sadly, though, "You Make Me Feel..." seems to have eclipsed Sabi's grinding, dubstep-infused debut single "Wild Heart", which was released nearly three months ago. We're all for striking while the Cobra iron is hot, but at some point, let's hope the budding songstress gets her moment to shine all on her own. Catch the DWTS performance below.

B.o.B Is Boastful On New Mixtape Track “5 On The Kush”
Tue Nov 15 2011 by Becky Bain
Before B.o.B unleashes his Strange Clouds, he's dropping treats in the form of a new mixtape, EPIC (Every Play Is Crucial). One crucial track in particular is "5 On The Kush", a joyful tune that, much like his exuberant "High Life" vid, has the Atlantia rapper boasting about his flashy new lifestyle: "My seats are leather, my jackets are leather / Got PETA pissed off cause my pillow filled with feathers." Be careful of invoking the wrath of PETA, Bobby Ray! Once they're done blasting Super Mario, you could be next. Check out "On The Kush" below.
