Thu Jan 5 2012 by Robbie Daw
We're as fascinated by Kanye West as the next chap. But last night the throne watcher pushed his fingers' limits by typing out a stream-of-conscious rant on Twitter for two hours, and it's got us scratching our noggins over just how one of the busiest artists in the world simply found the time for this. Anyway, at the crux of his lengthy tweet sesh was 'Ye's revelation that he's starting a design firm called Donda. And working on the Jetsons movie. Or something. Read on!

Ludacris To Open Restaurant At The Atlanta Airport
Wed Jan 4 2012 by Becky Bain
It's nothing new for a celebrity to use some of their millions in earnings to open up a restaurant — Justin Timberlake has NYC BBQ joint Southern Hospitality, while Lady Gaga just opened up an eatery with her dad named Joanne's — but it's just a bit out of the ordinary for a big star to fulfill their culinary fantasies exclusively at an airport setting. "Im taking my restaurateur footprint into the busiest airport in the WORLD! Hartsfield-Jackson ATL International! Chicken & Beer coming soon!" tweeted Ludacris last night (obviously inspired by his 2003 album), with the follow up "THIS IS HISTORY! #chickenandbeer." Hey, we like chicken and beer just fine — time to take a trip to Atlanta! [Via @ludacris]
Taylor Swift Offered Role In Upcoming ‘Les Miserables’ Movie Musical
Wed Jan 4 2012 by Becky Bain
While Justin Timberlake mulls over the possibility of playing Elton John in a musical biopic, another famous face from the world of pop is gearing up to sing on the big-screen. Though her rep has yet to confirm, Taylor Swift has reportedly been offered the role of Eponine (aka the one who sings what is arguably the show's most well-known song, "On My Own") in the upcoming screen adaptation of Les Miserables. If this turns out to be true, as thrilled as we are for Swift landing one of the hottest roles in Hollywood — Lea Michele, Scarlett Johansson and Evan Rachel Wood were all allegedly gunning for the part — this is a terrible idea for several reasons. Okay, is Donald Trump trying to up his gay cred? The lineup for the twelfth season of Celebrity Apprentice was revealed today, and in addition to somewhat-self-proclaimed bisexual/former Danity Kane member Aubrey O'Day and out, loud and proud gents Clay Aiken and George Takei, gay icons Debbie Gibson and Lisa Lampanelli will be duking it out with the rest of the cast (which also includes singer/actress Tia Carrere, rocker Dee Snider and comedians Adam Carolla and Arsenio Hall). But, honestly, they had us at Debbie Gibson. Celebrity Apprentice premieres on February 12 on NBC.

Watch Nicki Minaj, LMFAO, & Justin Bieber Rock ‘New Year’s Rockin’ Eve’
Sun Jan 1 2012 by Idolator Staff
We sure hope you had a rockin' New Year's Eve of your own, but if not, things were plenty rockin' on the couch in front of the TV screen, too. So many of our favorite acts performed on ABC's Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve, we hardly knew what to do with ourselves! Naturally, the most attention-grabbing set involved Lady Gaga wearing a New Year's Eve ball of her own, but we also got to say goodbye to a couple of 2011's biggest hits ("Super Bass" and "Party Rock Anthem") as Nicki Minaj and LMFAO performed those and singles for the New Year: "Roman In Moscow" and "Sorry For Party Rocking." Plus, Justin Bieber played with Carlos Santa! Catch it all below.

Pop Music’s 13 Biggest Fails Of 2011
Fri Dec 30 2011 by Becky Bain
There were plenty of noble efforts to come out of the 2011 pop scene — Adele's crowd-pleasing, chart-dominating album; Lady Gaga's various charitable commitments; Justin Bieber's surprisingly impressive freestyle raps, just to name a few. But even though we like to highlight the good stuff, the fail-worthy moments from the past year are too unforgettable (and too funny) to ignore. We've picked the 13 Biggest Fails from the past year for your reading (dis)pleasure, and if you thought nothing could be worse than Chris Brown's chair-throwing temper tantrum at Good Morning America, you're wrong. Reflect on Pop Music's Year In Fail below. More »
Kelly Clarkson Catches Flack For Supporting Ron Paul
Thu Dec 29 2011 by Idolator Staff
She led a flash mob in her latest video — now she's just plain being mobbed. They say what doesn't kill you makes you "Stronger," and Kelly Clarkson has put that to the test — the soulful diva was on the receiving end of some major grievances about her endorsement of Republican presidential hopeful Ron Paul, about whom she said: "I love Ron Paul. I liked him a lot during the last republican nomination and no one gave him a chance. If he wins the nomination for the Republican party in 2012 he's got my vote. Too bad he probably won't." This opened the floodgates for scores of scornful tweets about her political beliefs. Read her response below.

Adele Has Her Best Sales Week Ever
Wed Dec 28 2011 by Idolator Staff
Last-minute shoppers gave Adele's 21 one last kick in the pants on the charts ending Christmas Day, which saw the Grammy-nominee's best sales week ever in the 45th week of release. (The disc was stuffed into 399,000 stockings.) That brings 21 up to 5.68 million copies sold, far and away 2011's highest seller (unless Michael Buble miraculously manages to sell over 3 million copies of his holiday LP post-Christmas — highly unlikely). But the SNL performer did manage to claim the charts' top slot for the fifth week running, getting stragglers into the Christmas spirit with 467,000 copies sold, surpassing Lady Gaga's Born This Way to become the year's second highest-selling album.
