Katy Perry performed songs from her new album Teenage Dream on the Late Show with David Letterman last night and sat down with Dave for a chat. She started off doing a run-through of her career and engagement to Russell Brand, but it wasn't long before the nighttime host pulled out Rolling Stone, flipped it open to a provocative (read: topless) pic of the quotable pop singer and asked, "Now what's God got to do with that?" We’ve seen Katy Perry rocking a Crayola Box of fake hair recently in promotion of her delicious Teenage Dream LP—and the colors keep on flowing in Perry’s recent Phil Knott photo shoot for The Guardian. The chameleon-like pop star goes through a personality disorder in these retro photos, switching from a black-haired siren, a green-coiffed bathing beauty and a red-headed flapper. Whether the occasional purchase of Kylie Minogue's "Showtime" or Mariah Carey's "M" is worth it is for fans to decide, but this much we know: the ads for most pop star scents stink. Whether the commercial depicts the singer wandering through a forest or swimming in an extravagant pool, these these ads all reek of cheesiness. Xtina’s “Elastic Love” Rocks—But You’ll Have To Wait To See It Live

Christina Aguilera is postponing her Bionic tour til 2011, citing prior commitments as the reason for pushing back her tour with Leona Lewis. Turns out 2010 is too busy a year for the singer, since she has to promote both her new album and her film Burlesque, which will be released this November.
But don't be too sad, Xtina stans! Bionic drops June 8, and we've got two standout tracks from her fourth studio album to share with you—"I Hate Boys" and the M.I.A.-penned "Elastic Love". Unfortunately, only one of them is a standout in a good way. More »

The Idolator Interview: Keane’s Tom Chaplin

Last week Keane's Night Train EP became their fourth release to top the UK album chart and the third in a row to land in the Top 40 on Billboard's Top 200 Albums. The set, which was recorded in various studios across the globe while the British trio toured for previous album Perfect Symmetry, found the group collaborating with BET Awards-nominated rapper K'Naan and Japanese MC Tigarah. It also features songwriter/keyboard player Tim Rice-Oxley taking over vocal duties from Tom Chaplin on one of the tracks.
We spoke with Chaplin last week about the process of putting the EP together, as well as their upcoming U.S. tour and getting started on their next album. (P.S.
