Justin Bieber Teams Up With Ludacris For ‘Baby’

Wed Jan 13 2010 by Becky Bain
Justin Bieber certainly backs up what he tweets. While promoting his album My World in London, the tween sensation uploaded a video of himself singing an acoustic version of a brand new song, the soulful "Baby." The recorded version (available on iTunes next week) will feature Ludacris, who between this and his Chipmunk-tastic "How Low," is apparently on a mission to work with anyone remotely smacking of cuteness. Video of Bieber performing after the jump. More »

Nick Jonas Demonstrates ‘Who I Am’ In His New Music Video

Mon Jan 4 2010 by Robbie Daw
Just when you'd about forgotten Nick Jonas has a single out with his side project The Administration, along comes the music video. (Hey, "Who I Am" is #112 on iTunes' Top Songs chart currently—don't blame us!)

Nick initially premiered "Who I Am" live when Grammy nominations were announced in early December. Maybe the black and white vid—and its employment of the tried and true technique of parading a variety of diverse folks from various walks in front of the camera—can rev up enough excitement for kiddies to break out their recently-acquired iTunes gift cards. Catch "Who I Am" after the jump. More »

Kevin Jonas Kisses Purity Goodbye, Gets Hitched

Mon Dec 21 2009 by Robbie Daw
Now, see, Kevin—this is usually the point where a boy band's popularity starts to go down the tubes; one of the members meets a pretty hairdresser, they pop the question, they start smooching in public and there goes your not-so-loyal tween girl fanbase. More »

Nick Jonas Names Prince As An Inspiration For His Solo Album

Thu Dec 10 2009 by Becky Bain

We’re sure there’s no disrespect meant toward Kevin and Joe’s musical abilities, but Nick Jonas is taking inspiration from someone slightly older (and shorter) than his brothers. Nick has named Prince as the main influence on his upcoming album, Who I Am. That could have something to do with the fact that Jonas’ current side project The Administration is made up of members of Prince’s New Power Generation. More »

Selena Gomez Fails At Making Us Believe She’s The White Stripes

Wed Dec 9 2009 by Becky Bain

Where oh where have we seen the angular red-black-and-white motif from Selena Gomez and The Scene’s video for “Naturally”? Selena mines the same aesthetic vein as Rihanna, borrowing liberally from The White Stripes “Seven Nation Army” for the video for the second single off her Kiss & Tell album. And yes, we’re still just a little shocked when a tween actor-turned-singer steals a rock group’s style.

Check below for the all-too familiar clip by of The Wizards of Waverley Place star and her backup band, (sorry, no former Prince collaborators were available this time, they’re busy lending cred to another Disney star): More »

Susan Boyle Gets Invited To Perform At The White House

Mon Dec 7 2009 by Becky Bain

Seems like yesterday that the Jonas Brothers were burnin’ up the hearts of White House pop fans. But even Disney’s tween dreamboats may have to yield to the shock and awe of Susan Boyle’s global assault. As if notching biggest sales week for any album this year wasn’t enough to command respect, ever-reliable UK news outlet The Daily Express reports that Susan Boyle has been asked to drop by 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. for a “small, intimate gathering” during the First Lady’s 46th birthday party in January. Nick Jonas Reveals ‘Who I Am’ At Grammy Gig…Repeatedly

Thu Dec 3 2009 by Robbie Daw

If you caught the 36-second preview of Nick Jonas’ new single “Who I Am” here last week, then you’ve pretty much seen the whole movie. Seventeen-year-old Jonas and his side project The Administration took to the stage at The GRAMMY Nominations Concert Live!!—Countdown To Music’s Biggest Night last night and belted out the full song, which basically starts with the same few guitar chords and never lets up. (And is it just us or does it feel like he repeats the chorus at least 47 times?)

Maybe the studio version is a bit more lively, you may be wondering. Well, your Jonas ship has come in—Ocean Up posted it last night! Hop below to compare and contrast the live and single versions of “Who I Am.” More »
