Cory Gunz Arrested On Gun Charge

Sun Jan 29 2012 by Idolator Staff
Well, at least no one can accuse him of not living up to his name. "6 Foot 7 Foot" rapper Cory Gunz has been arrested for possession of a loaded firearm in New York City. The Young Money rapper was found in his native Bronx with the weapon in his knapsack in what his father Peter Gunz (also a rapper, featured on MTV's Son Of A Gun with Cory) told MTV was "definitely an illegal search." Though this is Cory's first arrest, it looks like the 24-year-old may well be facing some serious jail time, as there is a mandatory prison sentence for this offense in New York City. See what Cory's buddy Nick Cannon had to say below. More »

Ke$ha’s “Get Sleazy 2.0″ Remix Gets An Appropriately Sleazy Video

Fri Jan 27 2012 by Becky Bain
The roles of Ke$ha, Wiz Khalifa, Andre 3000, T.I. and Lil Wayne in the video for "Get Sleazy 2.0 (Get Sleazier)" will be played by a large black man with a mohawk, a Pabst Blue Ribbon-guzzling drag queen, a folksy townie, a foul-mouthed old man, and a bat-wielding teen hoodlum, respectively. "This video is the product of my friends seeing how sleazy the already monumentally Sleazy Remix 2.0 could get," writes K-Dolla. "Brace yourself because this video takes SLEAZY to a whole new level." Yeah, she's not kidding. We're just surprised nobody put their beard in anyone's mouth. More »

Lil Wayne To Drop New Album Before The Summer

Thu Jan 26 2012 by Becky Bain
Perhaps considering either the bad reviews or the impressive sales of Lil Wayne's Tha Carter IV, Weezy is already prepping the release of his follow-up. While speaking to Complex, Cash Money's Birdman revealed that Wayne will drop a new album before Summer 2012. "Its called I Am Not A Human Being 2," he said, adding that the sequel to his 2010 LP is already "ready to go". "It's gonna be before the summer for sure. We haven’t picked the date yet." Perhaps this incarnation of Human Being will be STD-free?

Lil Wayne To Write Prison Memoir

Thu Jan 12 2012 by Becky Bain
Lil Wayne wasn't exactly off the radar during his eight-month prison sentence at Rikers Island, thanks to his frequently updated blog Weezy Than You, his stash of quickly-filmed music videos, as well as his various call-ins and think-pieces on tennis. Although he managed to stay present while incarcerated, we haven't heard much about his experience in prison — until now. The rapper will pen a memoir called Gone Till November, which will be based on the diary entries he composed while at Rikers. Recounting his time spent behind bars will no doubt be taxing on Weezy, but he can take a break from reliving the past when shooting his online sports show. [Via Pitchfork]
