Nas & Amy Winehouse’s “Cherry Wine” Surfaces: Listen

We last heard Amy Winehouse and Nas pair up on “Like Smoke”, a track that appeared on Winehouse’s posthumous 2011 collection Lioness: Hidden Treasures. And like that tune, “Cherry Wine”, another from-beyond-the-grave collaboration between the two friends, features sparse, likely unfinished lyrics from Amy. “Where is he, the man who is just like me / heard he was hiding somewhere I can’t see,” the late London singer croons on “Cherry Wine”.

The song will appear on Nas’ upcoming 10th studio album Life Is Good (out July 17). In fact, the rapper repeats the LP’s title several times at the end of the cut. Smart move from a marketing standpoint, given that the breezy, jazzy “Cherry Wine” will likely be the song most folks are eager to hear. Give it a spin below.

“Cherry Wine” was produced by Nas and Amy’s longtime collaborator Salaam Remi.
