While Glee's Matthew Morrison prepares his debut album and Lea Michele whisks away to Oz, Dianna Agron—who plays the sometimes bitchy, sometimes lovable, endlessly pregnant cheerleader Quinn—has joined the cast of Burlesque. Dianna recently sat down with Interview magazine and revealed she has a supporting role in the upcoming Cher/Christina Aguilera movie-musical, which is already destined to become the Moulin Rouge of the new decade.

It's pretty much a given that casting a musician in your movie guarantees they'll contribute to the film's soundtrack—and if you're lucky, you'll have a hit song to help promote your flick. The most recent example is Taylor Swift's "Today Was a Fairytale," the lead single off the soundtrack to Valentine's Day. The song was on iTunes for a matter of hours before it hit #1. (As for the fate of the movie? It has to compete with The Wolfman V-Day weekend, so we'll see whether America is in the mood to celebrate romance or, er, not.)

Cher’s Ringlets Wish You A Merry Christmas

I was recently alerted to the online presence of this hypnotically bad 1976 Sonny and Cher Christmas special, and this Cher-led Christmas medley really takes the cake. It’s set in a Dickensian soundstage, and some maybe famous people show up to help her out. Her “Oh Holy Night”… man. It’s like the Vibrato Goblin jumped down her throat. The felt-like fabric of the costumes comes straight from a 1975 Jo-Ann Fabric Store, like people are dressed up in the Formica color palettes. If anybody has ever been to the decrepit made-for-making-out Monster Plantation ride at Six Flags Over Georgia they should recognize Cher’s look, particularly the heavy duty ringlets; she looks just like that lady that greets you at the beginning of the ride!

“New York” Looks At Collagen Rock

By now you’ve probably seen “The New New Face,” Jonathan Van Meter’s cover story in the current issue of New York. If not, read it whenever you can: it’s superb. Even if you find plastic surgery ghastly to contemplate based on the most hideous of its results, this is an amazingly light-fingered piece of work. It’s an effortless read even if the subject skeeves you; it dashes any expectations you might have almost gleefully–and none more so than when Van Meter brings into the story Liz Rosenberg, Madonna and Cher’s publicist.
