MTV president Christina Norman, who started at the company as a freelance production manager 17 years ago and worked her way up to the top gig, is leaving the network at the end of February. During her tenure at MTV Networks, Norman invented the term "Celebreality" and started the annual Hip Hop Honors, and she also helped launch MTV2. No replacement has been named yet, though Van Toffler, who penned the memo announcing her departure, will fill her role in the interim. Possibly of note in Toffler's memo: He goes to great pains to notice that she started at the company as a freelancer—no doubt to fire up the hopes of all those MTV permalancers who
didn't get staff positions a few weeks back. The full memo (via
TDS) after the jump.
