Christmas came early, so to speak, for Coachella lovers this year! The 2012 lineup for the annual music festival, which takes place in Indio, California each April, is typically revealed in mid-to-late January. But the mods behind Coachella’s official Twitter must have been too impatient to wait, as they tweeted out the official lineup poster for this year’s fest. And they found some amazing acts who were available to play two consecutive weekends in a row!

As far as Idolator-friendly acts on the bill, David Guetta will play Saturday, as well as Miike Snow, Scissor Sisters’ rap amiga Azealia Banks, Kanye’s Grammy-nominated pals in Bon Iver, Feist and producer/DJ/Madonna collaborator Martin Solveig.

Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg will co-headline Sunday night. Florence + The Machine, La Roux and The Weeknd are also playing that day, as well as Justice, Popping Up artist Lissie, Rihanna’s “We Found Love” collaborator Calvin Harris and mashup DJ king Girl Talk. Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival will take place April 13-15 and April 20-22. Tickets go on sale Friday, January 13 at 10 a.m PST on the Coachella website.

Today it was announced that the festival, which takes place in Indio, California, will be held April 13-15 and 20-22, 2012.

“Festival organizers will attempt to produce two identical festival weekends–same lineup, same art, same place, different people,” states a message on the fest’s official site. “We know many of you were unable to attend this year’s festival because passes sold out much sooner than anticipated. We were truly surprised by the overwhelming response and remain honored by your passion and enthusiasm. We also know some of you purchased through non legitimate sources and were inconvenienced, gouged or totally scammed. We hope that these changes will give everyone the opportunity to purchase directly from Coachella.com.”

Being that most bands and artists’ schedules are already so tight, we find it hard to believe that they could convince the headliners, as well as the other acts on the lineup, to stay put in Southern California for two weekends in a row. So we won’t be surprised if there’s some tweaks to the lineup from one weekend to the next. But hey, at least hotels in the Coachella Valley are gonna make some major bank twice in April!

Advance sale of weekend passes ($269 plus fees) start this Friday, June 3 and end the following Friday.

If you are one of the unfortunate folks who didn’t make it out to Coachella this year, you’re in for a treat — you can still experience the magic firsthand from at least one major artist. Scarf-lover Kanye West has released a “mixtape” of his full set from the fest, which includes “Power,” “Love Lockdown,” “All Of The Lights,” and “Gold Digger” (perhaps you’ve heard some of these?). To celebrate Ms. Doolittle’s debut album finally being released in the U.S. today (stop by iTunes and pick it up, y’all!), we had a chit-chat with the “Rollerblades” singer after an autograph-signing outside the Gobi tent. She discussed the trials of making it big here in the States, her growing shoe collection and why she’s “perving” on everyone at the music fest. Head below for our one-on-one with Eliza!

Idolator: You’re a regular at music festivals at this point, right?
Eliza Doolittle: I’ve done loads in the U.K., but not many out here. [I’ve done] South By Southwest! There’s so many in the U.K.! T In The Park is really cool. It’s just music – there’s no distractions. There is another one called the Secret Garden Party where you can get your fortune told and there’s magic everywhere. Everywhere you look is beautiful. But T in the Park and V Fest is just straight music – just tent and tents.

This is your first time at Coachella. What are your initial thoughts?
It’s very beautiful. Nothing beats being with the palm trees and the pink flowers, and all the beautiful people – I’m just perving over everyone!

Who have you seen so far that has really impressed you?
I saw Mumford & Sons and they were amazing. I’m  looking forward to seeing Tinie [Tempah] and Kanye.

You did a recent cover of Kanye’s “Runaway”. What made you want to tackle that song?
I just loved the song. I’ve got a few covers under my belt, but I thought, since he’s headlining, I might as well throw together a little tribute.

Congrats on the release of your album in the U.S.! How has it been trying to break into the pop scene in America?
I’m still really brand spanking new to the U.S., and I’ve only come here before for a few promo trips. I haven’t even really worked my butt off yet, I know that’s to come because it’s a really hard country to be heard in. I know the radio is really different here.

How so?
[In the UK] everything would be played on one radio station. There’s tons of radio stations, but they’re not all dedicated to one genre. There might be more of a youthful station or more of an adult station, but there’s still a variety of music — it’s not like it’s just R&B or just pop. It’s all different, and I have no idea how that whole system works. It’s all new to me.

Who are your musical role models?
I love Stevie Wonder. I’d love to be just like him one day. I love Carole King, I love great songwriters like [Burt] Bacharach. I love Radiohead. I love Pharrell Williams.

Did you get to see Pharrell perform with Odd Future on Friday?
Fuck off! I love Odd Future, too! I was away on Friday.

Every time we see a photo of you, you’re wearing something fun. Today you’ve got on a giant headdress and some sea-foam shorts! What inspires your style?
Definitely just having fun with it and playing with it. Music and fashion is so much fun to me. I like to express myself through both. I love colors and short shorts and high top Nikes. I like to experiment.

You seem to have quite the growing shoe collection.
I think we’re coming up to around forty.

Oh, I thought it could be in the hundreds at this point!
Not there yet! I’m starting to get a bit more obsessed. I’m getting deeper and deeper into this. I’ve got a friend who works for Nike in London, I’m like, “Hey, man!”

Idolator: Is this your first time at Coachella?
Mark Foster: First time playing. We were here last year actually. Got to see a bunch of good bands. Little Dragon is amazing, Die Antwoord, Vampire Weekend, Gorillaz, Jay-Z.

What does it mean to you to be playing Coachella?
It feels like a homecoming to us, because we haven’t really played a proper big L.A. show yet. We just finished our first U.S. tour and we’re coming back and there’s a lot of people form L.A. here… a lot of people will get to see us for the first time. It’s crazy that it’s a festival and not a club show.

You formed less than two years ago and now you’re playing one of the biggest music festivals in the world. Is it strange to think how fast it’s all coming?
It’s hard to get perspective on that, honestly. I don’t know what the perception is of us. We’re in a bubble playing music. The last year’s been super fast-paced and it’s coming at us fast and furious but we’ve also just been working hard and playing a lot. We haven’t had time to stop and think about it. I still feel like we’re proving ourselves, since we only have three songs [on the Foster The People EP] out there and there’s a lot of curiosity. A lot of good curiosity.

Were your bandmates cool having your last name be in the band name?
We all talked about that together. It was a solo project when it started, so when we started playing, we were like, “Well, do we go by Mark Foster?” That’s what we were going to do, and then we’re like, no, let’s make this a band, this feels good.

How different was your solo material compared to the music you’re writing now as a band?
Different, but a lot of the songs that made our record I wrote in the last year with the band in mind. That definitely helped. When we first started playing together… it was a little scattered. As we continued to jam and gel as a band, that helped me as a writer to focus more.

What was your first big break?
I’d say that Hype Machine was the big break. A girl blogged about our song “Pumped Up Kicks” on some German blog site, and it went on Hype Machine, and it started shooting up the charts, and suddenly we were on everybody’s map.

You should send that girl some flowers!
I know! I sent her an email a while ago thanking her. I was like, when we’re out in Germany, come hang out, we’ell take you out. We should meet.

Did she respond?
She did actually. We haven’t been out there yet.

Who’s the act you’re most stoked to see this weekend?
Kanye, I just get so excited about Kanye. I saw him at South By. I snuck in. It was at capacity. My name was on a list but the fire marshal shut it down. I jumped three fences at the power plant. It was mind-blowing.

What is it that you like so much about Kanye?
His creativity. He’s one of a handful of people who’s doing really creative things with music right now. Also he’s based in songwriting, and I gravitate towards songwriters. He knows how to set a tone and a vibe, but he’s on the frontier of hip-hop as far as pulling so many styles from other types of music and putting them in hip-hop.

I feel like he’s responsible for the way pop has changed today. The fact that Lady Gaga is as big as she is, and the fact that hip-hop and pop and electronic music and European music are all becoming one thing in The States now. And if you remember, before Kanye did that Daft Punk record, “Stronger”, music wasn’t really like that yet. Hip-hop was like Dirty South, cash, money, hoes. He made hip-hop more intelligent.

Do you try to combine genres when crafting your songs?
Yeah. Every song has different influences from different places. A lot of hip-hop, too, but most people probably wouldn’t pick up on it.

Weirdest thing you’ve seen at Coachella so far?
Nothing too bizarre. I saw a guy wearing a glow-in-the-dark suit, a neon face. That guy was rad.
