The latest person not singing for Velvet Revolver: Panic Channel frontman and former MTV VJ Steve Isaacs. "I got an odd email congratulating me about singing for the Velvet Revolver guys, which took me by surprise cause, well... I'm not." Um, duly noted? Who's next to come out of the "No Velvet Revolver for me, but hey, I still exist" woodwork? My bets are on Isaacs' former bandmate Dave Navarro, Sebastian Bach, or Jesse Camp. Four Shows That MTV Should Bring Back (So The World Can Be Spared "That's Amore")

Apparently, last night was the premiere of That's Amore, wherein a guy with the most ridiculously fake accent regularly featured on a television program in recent memory tries to find love or ratings or whatever. Really, MTV? Is this what it's come to? Isn't a wrestling match in a pool of spaghetti a little close to territory already covered by The Joe Schmo Show (a show whose comeback I would welcome, if anyone cares)?

Instead of dwelling on the negative, let's focus on the slightly less negative. We're all aware that music is out of the question, but what MTV programming currently in the channel's dustbin division deserves a comeback, so as to spare viewers the sight of the guy pictured above sporting a Speedo?

MTV's Reprogrammed "Remote Control": Ken Ober, Where Are You Now?

So as a friend pointed out to me recently, MTV has been launching a ton of blogs lately, and they range from the inane to the wrist-slittingly depressing. But then I found Remote Control, which I unearthed while researching, uh, Celebrity Rap Superstar (Sebastian Bach freestyles?!) and I just threw up my hands at the Internet. "Remote Control"—a show that was long associated with early MTV's wink-and-nod attitude toward pop culture—is now the title for an MTV-bankrolled blog that actually contains the sentences "And as always, the SHIT HIT THE FAN!" and "I want more Trisha drama!!!" in a recap of Drunk People Fighting: Sydney? I weep for my copy of the home game, which sits moulding in a basement somewhere. More »
