Cypress Hill is returning to the music scene after a six-year break, and we think they've gone truly insane in their collective membrane after listening to "Armada Latina," a new track from their upcoming album Rise Up. The only thing more bizarre than featuring Marc Anthony crooning en español and Pitbulll spitting verses on the same track? How about using a 41-year old folk song's catchy closing riff as the main hook?
The band samples Crosby, Stills & Nash's lush multi-part classic, "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes," a song that was released roughly around the same time that all four members of Cypress Hill were born. We hate to say this, but there are so many disparate influences on this track, you kind of wonder whether Cypress Hill was smoking weed when they made this. But it's not the train wreck you'd expect.
