The outlandish punk-cabaret duo is just taking a "BADLY needed hiatus" during which they'll focus on their own projects and go about "expanding the empire." OK then! David Lee Roth was supposed to appear in the above clip for the Dresden Dolls' "Shores Of California"—an homage to his clip for his "California Girls" cover—but he had to turn it down, thanks to some "weird publicity shit with Van Halen." Here's hoping that he turns up in the Dolls' next video, and that it's a "Yankee Rose" homage. (Maybe he can play the frustrated bride?)
