Dance Music To Be Tributed At The Grammys Mostly By Non-Dance Artists
Tue Feb 7 2012 by Becky Bain
Dance music didn't have its own category at The Grammys until 2003, and now the little genre that could appears to have been fully embraced by the Recording Academy. The 2012 Grammy Awards will include "a special segment spotlighting dance/electornica music for the first time ever." The lineup for this special performance? Deadmau5, David Guetta, Chris Brown, Lil Wayne and the Foo Fighters. Wait, what? More »
Nicki Minaj, Kelly Clarkson, Taylor Swift & Jason Aldean To Perform At Grammys
Thu Jan 12 2012 by Robbie Daw
While rumor has it (ba-zing!) that Adele will open the upcoming Grammy Awards, there are, at least, a few actual confirmed performers on the roster for the show. Both Nicki Minaj and Jason Aldean are scheduled to make their Grammy singing debuts during the ceremony, which will be broadcast live on February 12. Each of them are up for statues — Nicki, most notably for Best New Artist, Best Rap Album and Best Rap Performance — and each have been big winners at other awards shows over the past year.

Nicole Scherzinger Held At Gunpoint In Mexico: Morning Mix
Fri Dec 16 2011 by Becky Bain
Did You Hear?
:: Nicole Scherzinger was held at gunpoint while filming her "Try With Me" video in Mexico. The singer and her choreographer were riding in their SUV when they were pulled over by a local gang carrying "M-16s and Berettas". Well, that's much more terrifying than the possibility of her album never coming out. [Celebuzz]
:: Inspired by his bad boy turn in the "Criminal" video, Britney Spears gifted her man a new motorcycle for his 40th birthday. [Pink Is The New Blog]
:: Looks like someone isn't too happy that Justin Timberlake is getting back with Jessica Biel. Watch Jessica's brother totally diss JT in this strange video. [PopCrush]
:: Find out what Adele did when she learned MTV named "Rolling In the Deep" as the Best Song Of 2011. [MTV]
:: The Foo Fighters literally caused an earthquake in New Zealand during their concert. [Huffington Post]

2011 MTV Video Music Awards: The Winners
Mon Aug 29 2011 by Robbie Daw
By now you've watched all the live performances from last night's MTV Video Music Awards — some, probably repeatedly. (We personally can't get enough of Adele's touching, classy moment with "Someone Like You"!) But, oh, right — there were also actual awards handed out! Adele's “Rolling In The Deep” swept the night by nabbing four moon men, though it was for all technical categories. The evening's three other big winners: Katy Perry (Video Of The Year, Best Collaboration), Lady Gaga (Best Female Video, Video With A Message) and Britney Spears (Best Pop Video, Video Vanguard Award). Dave Grohl Unleashes His NSFW Foo Fury On Fighting Fan At Concert
Wed Jul 13 2011 by Idolator Staff
Dave Grohl approves of Foo Fighting — just not the regular kind. Or so we learn from a video of the MTV Movie Awards performer unleashing a string of NSFW words aimed at a concertgoer who apparently couldn't keep his fists to himself. The Foo Fighters frontman interrupted his London iTunes concert at the Roundhouse on Monday in order to single out the offending crowd member and launch into a tirade of four-letter words about proper Foo Fighters concert-going etiquette, which basically requires that one "f***ing dance" instead of "f***ing fight," and "get the f*** out" if they disobey this decree. Watch the chart-topper play peacemaker below. More »
The #1 Albums In 2011 (So Far)
Thu Jun 30 2011 by Robbie Daw
With June drawing to a close today, we decided to have a reflective moment and ponder the albums that reached #1 on the Billboard Top 200 chart in the first half of 2011. There were 13 of them. And as everyone is likely well aware, 22-year-old Londoner Adele has so far ruled the roost — with both sales and weeks spent at the top of the chart — with her sophomore LP 21. Flip through the gallery to see the other albums that hit high notes so far in 2011! (Note: Bad Meets Evil’s Hell: The Sequel just missed the cut-off, since technically it reached #1 on the Billboard chart dated July 2.) More »
Lupe Fiasco And Trey Songz Perform At The 2011 MTV Movie Awards
Sun Jun 5 2011 by Idolator Staff
It may be the MTV Movie Awards, but that doesn't mean the network turned its back on music completely tonight. The star-studded, Jason Sudeikis-hosted Twilight lovefest came to us live from Universal City in LA, and in addition to jokes about Selena Gomez smooching Justin Bieber, we got a performance of "Walk" by recent chart-toppers Foo Fighters and, as promised, the television debut of "Out Of My Head" from Lupe Fiasco and Trey Songz — along with a live rendition of another Lasers track from the Malcolm X fan, the appropriately-titled "The Show Goes On." Head below to watch.

Adele's Platinum-selling 21 jumps back up for a fifth non-consecutive week at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 album chart (with another 153,000 copies moved), following an Easter week sales boost.
