Ghostface Killah Is A Big Doe Recidivist

Despite his half-hearted efforts to reform himself through traditional 12-step counseling, Ghostface is still driven by a crippling addiction, one that forces him to unrepentantly floss on camera. Thankfully for those watching at home, his sickness hasn't stopped him from being goofily gaudy enough to decorate the set for "We Celebrate" by duct-taping hundred-dollar bills to the walls and hand out prescription bottles (full of...gold? Diamonds? Comedy snakes?) as party favors. Good to know the "oncoming" (cough) recession isn't affecting Ghost's nightlife plans a whit. [YouTube]

If you wanna hear it a week ahead of schedule, and you should, Def Jam is offering up an advance streaming preview of Ghostface Killah's The Big Doe Rehab. You gotta listen to it all as one long track, but it's free. Plus you won't make Ghost cry by stealing it. [XXL]

Proving persistent-unto-obsessive identification with a robotic superhero sometimes does pay off, Ghostface Killah will appear in the upcoming Iron Man movie. Perhaps this means a Soulja Boy cameo in the next Superman flick? [MTV]

Norman Mailer: Microphone Fiend?

So author Norman Mailer, called "pugnacious" or "a genius" or "a jerk" or all three in no less than 8,000 obituaries, kicked this weekend. Meaning everyone's rushing to squeeze Mailer references into articles where they might not fit so good. Like this Mpls./St. Paul Magazine review of a Rakim/Ghostface Killah/Brother Ali concert in Minneapolis. Which springboards off Mailer's infamous tract "The White Negro." Because it seems that "deep down, back in '56, Mailer wished he could flow like that, wished he could approach anything as 'far out' as Rakim doing what he do." A full 12 years before Rakim was born, even. Oh, and you also learn Ghostface is the "McCartneyesque 'cute one.'" More »

December 4: More Wu-Tang Than You Can Handle

So there's a new Ghostface album dropping concurrently with 8 Diagrams! Just in time for Hanukkah! Hopefully better than More Fish! Even if it isn't, Ghost would still like to ask you to please not steal it. Also he wants you to add him as a Facebook friend, because he'll totally write nice things on your wall.

Lyle Lovett Has Destroyed Our Thinkin' Brains

Lyle Lovett has recorded the theme song to the awful-looking upcoming musical satire Walk Hard: The Legend Of Dewey Cox with the help of Jewel, Jackson Browne, and ... Ghostface Killah. (Somewhere my pal John's throat just clenched without knowing why.) The brief description of said song in this Rolling Stone interview has rendered me momentarily ... something: More »

"Leak" Of The Day: Ghostface Killah Pushes Weight

Nah Right has an MP3 of "Chunky," the new Ghostface track from the just-released J-Love mixtape. It's a solid turn, but considering the title, we were hoping it would be a loving tribute to one of the '90s finest rhymers: More »

Ghostface Killah Aims To Make It To The Lower Tiers Of The Nielsen Ratings

For those of you who ever wondered what would happen if one of the stars of the Wu-Tang Clan teamed up with one of the stars of Viva Rock Vegas, your mescaline-enhanced dreams have been fufilled, as Ghostface made a brief cameo on the way-underrated 30 Rock last night. You can watch the whole episode for free here; Ghostface's bit is in part four, but if you skip ahead, you'll miss Tracy Morgan's concise analysis of George Will. More »
