‘Glee’ Nabs Some Emmy Nominations (And A Few Snubs)

Thu Jul 14 2011 by Idolator Staff
With Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, and Chris Colfer definitely exiting Glee after next season, they're running out of chances to win awards for their breakout roles on the series. Of course, Colfer already nabbed one Emmy nod for his groundbreaking portrayal of gay teen Kurt Hummel last year (and won a Golden Globe), while Jane Lynch took a statue home for her hilarious turn as the nefarious Sue Sylvester. They're both nominated again. But there was at least one major snub for the New Directions team when noms were announced this morning, signaling that 2011's ceremony might be slightly less Glee-ful than last year's. Find out who made the cut below. More »

Gwyneth Paltrow Drops By ‘Glee’ Live! 3-D Taping

Fri Jun 17 2011 by Erika Brooks Adickman

When Gwyneth Paltrow tweeted Thursday night, "On my way to Glee Live! Rock. On”, the gangsta rapping Oscar winner didn't allude that she would be making a surprise appearance on stage at New Jersey's Izod Center. Dressed as McKinley High School's favorite substitute teacher Holly Holiday, the 38-year-old actress performed  "Forget You" during the live tour taping. But if you simply can't wait to catch Gwynnie's Glee Live! action when the concert transforms into a 3-D movie later this summer, head below to watch her school New Directions with some Cee Lo — and be sure to keep an eye out for Chris Colfer as he shakes his groove thang. Doesn't Graham know that the "G" in GOOP stands for "Gangsta"? Hop below to watch the Glee guest star's impressive rhymes — only to be upstaged by Lady Gaga's perfect comedic timing. More »

Tue Apr 19 2011 by Robbie Daw
Like the rest of the world, we here in the States are smitten with Adele. The UK singer's million-selling sophomore LP  21 is currently #1 for a fourth non-consecutive week, so naturally tunes off the record are making quite an impact on pop culture at large. Case in point: tonight recurring guest star Gwyneth Paltrow returns to Glee, where she'll belt out somber 21 ballad "Turning Tables." Also taken with Rolling Stone's current cover girl Adele is John Legend, who sang her Top 10 hit "Rolling In The Deep" during a recent sound check. Hear both below! More »

Matthew Morrison And Gwyneth Paltrow Get Cheesy On “Somewhere Over The Rainbow”

Mon Apr 11 2011 by Becky Bain
Glee buddies Matthew Morrison and Gwyneth Paltrow's duet of "Somewhere Over The Rainbow", off of Morrison's debut album, is currently streaming over at EW Music Mix, and the song is about as unoffensive as you can get without crossing over into nursery rhyme territory. It's basically a cover of Israel Kamakawiwo'ole's version of the Wizard Of Oz song, but even more easy listening. We'd maybe like it more if the singer's "Summer Rain" single wasn't also such a sappy affair. Give it a listen over here and tell us what you think.

Paltrow - who's still rumored to be seeking her own record deal - will duet with Morrison on his upcoming debut album, due to drop May 10. The duo will sing "Over The Rainbow", a sweet and inoffensive classic that should please grandmothers everywhere. Also, if you need more Holly Holiday in your life, Gwyneth will be back on the hit Fox show for the April 19 episode. [EW Music Mix]
