Hanson To Launch Their Own Brand Of Beer: Morning Mix

Thu Dec 1 2011 by Becky Bain
Did You Hear?

:: Hanson will release their own beer, to be called MmmHop. The alcoholic beverage will be an Indian pale ale, and will be available sometime next year. Now we know what we'll be imbibing during every repeat listen to Middle Of Nowhere. [PopDust]

:: Ke$ha promotes the animal inside and outside in a PSA for the Humane Society. We appreciate you working on behalf of stray dogs, K-Dolla, but could you have read the copy a little less like you just woke up from a nap and was called on to read aloud in class? [Jezebel]

:: B.o.B has a new mixtape. Download Epic (aka Every Play Is Crucial) for free and rock out to Bobby Ray's newest tunes. [Music & Lyrics]

:: Remember MTV's 2gether? Of course you do! ("U + Me = Us" is definitely on a mixtape somewhere.) It looks like the four surviving members of the band may be back again and a "mockumentary about the band's reunion" is in the works. [MTV Buzzworthy]

:: Watch the first episode of VH1's T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle. [Rap-Up]

Katy Perry, Darren Criss & Rebecca Black Highlight “Last Friday Night” Making-Of

Tue Aug 30 2011 by Robbie Daw
Katy Perry's "E.T." and “Firework” may have been the big winners at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, but that hasn't stopped the pink-haired songstress from showing some love to her latest clip, “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.).” A behind-the-scenes video, which features interviews with the party epic's stars (such as Rebecca Black, Darren Criss, Kevin McHale, Debbie Gibson, Corey Feldman and, yes, Kenny G) was thrown online to celebrate the one-year anniversary of Teenage Dream's release. Taylor Hanson: The Idolator Interview

Fri Aug 26 2011 by Becky Bain
You may best remember Hanson as the band that brought the world the non-word "MMMBop", but the boys who hail from Oklahoma have been going long and hard at music for nearly two decades. (Pretty impressive for a band with two members under the age of thirty.) In 2009, brothers Isaac, Taylor and Zac released their eighth studio album Shout It Out, and will soon embark on a Fall tour, with each night's set list chosen by the fans.

Twenty-eight-year-old frontman Taylor Hanson took a break from working on new material in Nashville to speak with us about the band's side projects, their longtime friendship with Weird Al, and their new one with Katy Perry. Plus, as a former teen heartthrob, Taylor had a few excellent bits of advice for today's It Boy of pop, Justin Bieber. Check out our exclusive chat with the middle Hanson bro below. More »

Hanson Reveal 2011 Tour Dates

Tue Jul 5 2011 by Becky Bain
After stopping by Katy Perry's house party, the all-growns-up brothers of Hanson are hitting the road to promote their 2010 disc Shout It Out. And unlike Ciara and Taio Cruz, there won't be a splash zone at any of their concert stops. Check out their tour dates below — hopefully at least one of these shows boasts a Weird Al cameo. More »

Katy Perry Goes From Geek To (Kinda) Chic In Her “Last Friday Night (TGIF)” Video

Sun Jun 12 2011 by Idolator Staff
The Hangover: Part III is coming at you sooner than you think, and it's a prequel set in the early 90's. At least, Katy Perry's new "Last Friday Night (TGIF)" video sure seems inspired by the blockbuster comedy, as we find "Kathy Beth Terry" waking up in bed with a shirtless quarterback trying desperately to recall what she did last (Friday) night. The shameful revelation? She was partying with a trifecta of the most-mocked musicians of all time (Hanson, Rebecca Black, and Kenny G), vomiting into a roller skate, and making (gasp!) eye contact with Glee's nerdy Kevin McHale (and, in the extended cut, Darren Criss). Watch all the fun below. More »

The Morning Mix: Ke$ha, Meet Kyrah

Thu Jun 17 2010 by Becky Bain
Did You Hear?

:: We honestly don't know if this robotic-voiced something-or-other Kyrah is intentionally ripping off Ke$ha as a joke, or if she's really hoping nobody will notice she's directly stealing Ke$ha's drunk toilet antics, but either way, yuck. (Also, Kyrah, you should really be spelling your name K¥rah.) [Vulture]

:: We could have sworn Justin Bieber was a 32-year old man until we read HuffPo's list of Bieb quotes that indicate that he is, in fact, only 16-years old. (Also, we realized this person in this photo was in actulity Tom Brady and not Bieber.) [Huffington Post]

:: The Jonas Brothers got trapped in an elevator. And there's video to prove it! Thankfully, a woman didn't give birth while they were stuck in there. But man, oh man, think of the hilarity that would ensue if there was! [Celebuzz]

:: Michelle Collins at Best Week Ever just met Hanson, and she's flipping out like the 25,000 people who rioted at South Street Seaport. (Minus the chair-throwing.) [BWE]

:: Katy Perry and fiance Russel Brand both got matching tattoos that read "go with the flow" in Sanskrit. [Just Jared]

What Do You Get When You Put Drake and Hanson Fans Together? A Riot

Wed Jun 16 2010 by Becky Bain
Did you know Drake and Hanson have a lot of fans? Of course you do. Everyone does—except the organizers of South Street Seaport's annual summer concert series, apparently. Organizers of the event only expected about 10,000 people to show up to the free concert featuring Drake and Hanson, and were surprised when a crowd of 25,000 fans appeared. They canceled the event, and, surprising nobody, madness ensued. More »

Hanson Hit Up ‘Lopez Tonight’

Thu Jun 10 2010 by Becky Bain
Taylor Hanson ditched the Blues Brothers shades while performing on Lopez Tonight last night, but the band of brothers didn't skimp on any of their energy. How come no one is nominating the incredibly catchy "Thinking 'Bout Something'" as the potential song of the summer? Every time we hear this tune—which is a lot recently—we can't help but get up and dance. Shake your groove thing by jumping below to watch Hanson play their hit single live. More »

Hanson Are “Thinking ‘Bout Something” On ‘The Tonight Show’

Thu May 27 2010 by Becky Bain
We just assumed the Hanson brothers were Team CoCo after unofficially inducting Conan O'Brien into the band, but it turns out Zac, Isaac, Taylor have no problems saddling up beside Jay Leno on The Tonight Show. We forgive them for switching alliances, but only because we really love their new single "Thinking 'Bout Something," which they performed last night on the late night talk show. Check out Hanson donning their best Blues Brothers look below—the only thing that we think is sorely missing is a Weird Al cameo. More »

Conan O’Brien Becomes The Fourth Hanson Brother

Wed May 19 2010 by Erika Brooks Adickman
Team Coco is apparently Team Hanson. On his stop in Tulsa, Oklahoma for his The Legally Prohibited from Being Funny on Television tour, Conan O'Brien had Hanson as the show's special musical guests this past Sunday. Quite frankly, they rocked.  Watch the performance and catch Hanson's backstage interview with Conan below. More »
