For better or for worse, UK-based music magazine
NME has rolled out its shortlist of nominees for its 2012 NME Awards. Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga and Adele each earned noms across the various irreverent categories — some more forgiving than others. (
Born This Way and
Under the Mistletoe both came in under Worst Album, oof!) Also scoring nods were newcomers Lana Del Rey and Azealia Banks and awards veterans Coldplay, The Throne and Katy Perry. See the full list of 2012 NME Award nominees below.

We already know that Taylor Swift loves surprises — including
every single award she's ever won. We also know
Ellen's pal loves
duets and
covers. So maybe it's
not such a surprise that the
Wonderstruck songbird brought her friend Hayley Williams to the stage at the Nashville stop on her Speak Now tour last night. The dissimilar pair performed Paramore's "That's What You Get," with the
Muppet-loving redhead singing the verses and the
atrociously-illustrated country diva taking on the chorus. No, you're not being
punk'd — what
you get is a video of this collaboration, if you head below!

Talk about suffering for your art. Hayley Williams and the other members of Paramore emerged from their
"Monster" video shoot with giant bruises, possibly broken fingers and other on-set maladies, as seen in the clip's behind-the-scenes footage. The band filmed the
Transformers: Dark Of The Moon single's vid inside a creepy abandoned hospital, encountering pyrotechnics and one fury-inspiring wall. Be careful, you three! We can't spare to lose any more members from your group. Check out the
Warped Tour performers filming their latest clip below.

When Hayley Williams played Wisconsin’s Marcus Amphitheater earlier this week for Van’s Warped Tour, and we’re pretty sure the show stunk. That is, at least judging by the Paramore frontwoman’s recent tweet: “Haven’t showered since the day before we started Warped. My armpits are weapons.” T.M.I. girl! Body odor aside, the rock band gave fans yet another monster performance, including this live rendition of their early hit “Pressure”. Click through to check out the beach babe. More »

“We’re in Sweden!” Hayley Williams excitedly tweeted as she and her Paramore band mates touched down in the Ikea motherland yesterday. The Green Album contributor took the stage earlier today as part of the Putte I Parken festival in Karlskoga dressed in what we’ve dubbed as “Split Personality” black and white jeans and a black tank top. Check out highlights from the “Monster” siren’s show — by the looks of these pics, our punky beach babe gave fans 110% during her performance. More »

Jason Segel's upcoming
The Muppets is said to host a handful of cameos from pop artists (such as
Lady Gaga and
Katy Perry), but it's the film's tribute compilation that has us really humming.
Muppets: The Green Album features 12 songs originally performed by the furry cast of characters, reinterpreted by the likes of OK Go (who handle the "Muppet Show Theme"), Weezer and Paramore's Hayley Williams (who both contribute to a cover of "Rainbow Connection"). Jump below to see what other acts are going green.

Hayley Williams certainly wasn’t lurking in the shadows for her recent photo spread with SELF magazine. The women’s mag snapped Paramore’s redheaded firecracker as she frolicked on a sunny beach for their July issue. The “Monster” singer revealed a few of her current beauty favs including “loud and vibrant” nails, Morrocan oil for healthy looking hair and opting for the cat eye look on her gorgeous peepers. Reports say U.S. forces shot and killed Osama Bin Laden, the mastermind of the 9/11 attacks, on Monday in Abbottland, Pakistan. (
CNN notes that DNA matching is under way on samples from the body.) "A small team of Americans carried out the operation with extraordinary courage and capability," President Obama said while addressing the nation last night. "After a firefight, they killed Osama bin Laden and took custody of his body."
Naturally there are many questions, there's much celebration and a certain amount of symbolism, given that we're just four months shy of the tenth anniversary of the crippling attacks on American soil. And Twitter, of course, blew up last night. Head below to read tweets from 12 different pop stars, which reveal varying perspectives about this historic event.

We already know that Lupe
originally recorded the song “Nothin’ On You”, and that it went on to be released by B.o.B and became a Grammy-nominated chart-topper for the rising artist. (Lupe, suffice to say,
wasn't too happy about it.) Well, that wasn’t the only Bobby Ray single that could have been Fiasco’s smash hit in an alternate universe – the MC also recorded other Grammy-nomm’d song “Airplanes”. Listen to both versions below and tell us who did it better!
