My Bloody Valentine To Play Stateside, Curate Best North American Festival Of 2008

Not only is My Bloody Valentine playing the just-announced All Tomorrow's Parties festival in Monticello, N.Y., this fall, they're curating the damn thing, and among the bands they've hand-picked to play include Built To Spill (performing Perfect From Now On), Polvo, the Meat Puppets (playing Meat Puppets II), and Low. And there's more to come! Tickets are limited to 3,000 and go on sale Friday, a.k.a. the first day of Coachella, which should make the festival-junkie action on Craigslist very interesting over the coming months. Prince Added To Coachella's Saturday Lineup

Is three weeks 15 days out too late to announce a headliner for your festival? Guess not. From the inbox: "Prince has joined this year's line-up for the ninth COACHELLA VALLEY MUSIC & ARTS FESTIVAL at the Empire Polo Field in Indio, CA (Friday, April 25, Saturday, April 26 and Sunday, April 27) as the headliner for the second night of the critically acclaimed festival." Unfortunately, the headliner he'll be bumping down is Portishead, not Roger Waters. The crucial question: Will this juice ticket sales or not? Sly Stone Speaks, Shows Off His Chopper

The forthcoming issue of Vanity Fair has an article that, frankly, we never thought we'd see: a chat between the long-reclusive Sly Stone and VF contributing editor David Kamp, who admits to pursuing the musician for an interview, off and on, for about 12 years. The chat eventually takes place at the Bay Area bike shop Chopper Guys Biker Products Inc., which we're guessing will see an uptick in business from curious fans beginning, oh, around now or so—and yes, that is his bike pictured at right: More »
