Kelis & Will.i.am Deliver New Dance Track “Anything Like You”

Mon Dec 26 2011 by Idolator Staff
And we thought we'd have to wait until 2012 for new music from Kelis! Leave it to this bouncy diva to exceed our expectations — her track with The Black Eyed Peas' will.i.am has hit the internet, and it gives us everything we want and need from the fashionable songbird. The electronic dance jam continues in the same vein as Kelis' 2009 Flesh Tone offerings, which is the best possible news since that was one of our faves that year. Though we don't yet know if this is new or just a leaked unreleased track, we can only hope Kelis' upcoming album is as strong as this track indicates. Listen below. More »

Kelis Dishes On Her 2012 Album

Mon Dec 26 2011 by Idolator Staff
Kelis has been reasonably quiet in 2011, which is a shame, since her dance-tastic Flesh Tone was on of our pics for 2010's Best Albums. (Though she did brighten up Calvin Harris' wonderfully summery "Bounce.") Fortunately, it sounds like we'll be getting more Kelis in 2012 than we did this year, since the skeletal songbird revealed to AllSaints Basement Sessions that we'll be getting a new LP from her in the early part of the new year. Kelis is also featured in Hunger magazine's latest issue in new shots by Rankin. See the pics and watch the segment after the jump. More »

Kelis Wows London Fashion Week (PHOTOS)

Mon Sep 19 2011 by Idolator Staff

Never one to bore us with lazy or uninteresting style, Kelis trotted out a number of eye-catching looks befitting the “Bounce”-y diva at London Fashion Week. The skeletal songbird must have turned a number of heads in these ensembles, from a long leopard-print dress worn at a Robert Cavalli after party to an Alexander McQueen-tributing white T-shirt (also worn at a Roberto Cavalli party). Certainly Kelis’ taste in apparel can be described as “Brave” — which look do you think she rocked best? More »

Kelis Shows Her Lovely Bones At Lovebox Festival (PHOTOS)

Mon Jul 18 2011 by Erika Brooks Adickman

“Lovebox was a fun muddy mess!” Kelis tweeted following her performance at Day 3 of the music festival. It seems a weekend of rain couldn’t wash away any of the sparkle from bouncy singer’s set. In keeping with the 2011 fashion trend of pop stars in Halloween-inspired ensembles, the Flesh Tone artist sported a sequined skeleton jogging suit on stage. Tell us what you think of the brave New Yorker’s latest look. More »

Kelis Gives A Little “Bounce” To Calvin Harris’ New Video

Fri May 13 2011 by Robbie Daw
We say Kelis gives a little bounce to "Bounce," because, well, she's barely in the music video. Still, as we know, the Flesh Tone diva's vocals dominate Calvin Harris' peppy new dance track. Head below to watch the Vincent Haycock-directed clip. More »

Kelis Adds Some “Bounce” To Calvin Harris’ New Track

Sat Apr 30 2011 by Idolator Staff
Just when we were beginning to feel our yards have been boy-free for entirely too long, the diva whose milkshake outdoes everybody else's is back, lending vocals to Scottish producer Calvin Harris' new single "Bounce." Over a chipper club beat, our 2010 fave Kelis croons: "We bounce to this track, and I don't care what anybody thinks about that." And while we applaud the "Brave" songbird's independence, there's no cause for her indifference — Flesh Tone fans should be perfectly happy bouncing along with this new dance jam all summer long. 10 Out Of ‘10: Idolator’s Favorite Albums Of The Year

Wed Dec 15 2010 by Idolator Staff
With the year just about wrapped up, we here at Idolator decided to get together, pore over our individual iPods and revisit the music that got us motivated in 2010. Perhaps some of the following 10 albums weren't the most critically acclaimed, but they were ones that inspired our hopes, heart-felt dreams and repeated plays while we navigated Planet Pop here on the website each day over the past 12 months. And so, in no particular order other than alphabetical... More »
