Tough Break, Kiddos: Kidzapalooza Los Angeles Is Off

Speaking of festivals and children, if you were planning on seeing Slash and Gary Oldman (?!) at Kidzapalooza in Los Angeles later this summer, make other plans. Artist scheduling conflicts are forcing a postponement of the West Coast festival until 2009, although it appears the Chicago version is still on. This is just like in 2004, when I had my hopes up to see Bumblebeez 81 at Lollapalooza and that ended up getting cancelled. Perry Farrell, you've hurt me before. Why must you take it out on my kids as well? [NME]

Perry Farrell will continue his mission to indoctrinate a whole new generation into the ways of satellite parties, unfortunate cardigans, and people making great pets this September, when Kidzapalooza breaks free from the shackles of Lollapalooza and becomes its own standalone event at the Hollywood Bowl. The show will feature both performances by Farrell and "special guests" and booths that offer breakdancing lessons and "rock and roll hairdos," whatever that means. Me, I'm just hoping that this means some bright-eyed entrepreneur out there will try and use Kidzapalooza to bring juice box-sized versions of smart drinks to market. Remember those?
