Was Kris Allen hammered when he and his friends made this video, which features the
American Idol winner getting his groove on and repeating the words "dubstep Christmas" over and over? Let's hope so. And let's hope he also lays down a few dubstep jams for his next album! As for the slight (?) undercurrent of racial tension between his two buddies toward the end the clip, well — let's leave that out of the creative process, Kris.

The music world was rocked by the
still unexplained death of Amy Winehouse at
the age of 27 this week, and Idolator readers were quick to express their sadness and shock. Other topics that sparked heated debate among pop fans include a preview of Adam Lambert's VH1 'Behind The Music' special, and the possibility of
Katy Perry matching Michael Jackson's long-held record of scoring five number one hits from the same album. Head below to see what our always-on-the-ball readers had to say about these developments.

Adam Lambert is currently at work on his
sophomore album (alas, with
no Xtina duet), and though all
we really want from the
nicest guy on Twitter is new tunes, other people are mainly interested in hearing him talk about his sexuality. (Hasn't this been covered enough?) In a preview clip from his upcoming
Behind The Music episode, Glambert discusses being presented as a stereotype on
American Idol, while simultaneously having to keep quiet about being gay. His Top 2 challenger and the eventual winner of Season 8, Kris Allen, was also interviewed for the VH1 special to discuss his time competing against Glambert on the show. Watch below.

Kris Allen apparently hopes to catch some of the career rejuvenation bestowed upon new reality show judges Jennifer Lopez and Blake Shelton. The American Idol Season 8 champ will serve as judge and mentor for Kidz Bop's 2nd annual Kidz Star USA Talent search, which seeks aspiring singers aged 15 or younger for their web-based competition. Unfortunately, Kidz Bop most likely found Allen's "Live Like We're Dying" too appropriate, as no such cover exists to add to this post. Shame. [Via THR, PopDust]

Though most people dread their high school reunions, the
American Idol reunion hosted by
The Hollywood Reporter seems like it'd be a party not to miss. The entertainment mag managed to get 29
Idol alumni, split from across all ten seasons, into one room for a class photo.
Season 10 faves Pia Toscano and Casey Abrams were in attendance, as was Kris Allen, the only former winner to make it to the reunion. Jump below to watch the alumni talk about their time on the show, what they've been doing since, and their thoughts on the new, nice judges.

Whether they were watching from the comfort of their couch or took the walk down the
red carpet inside the Nokia Theater to watch it live, many of the ghosts of
Idol past (and a few from the present, too) shared their thoughts on
last night's finale. Check out Twitter reactions from Adam Lambert, Pia Toscano, David Cook and more after the jump — plus, you won't believe which hip-hop star wants to work with
Season 10 champion Scotty McCreery.

Alums old and new came out last night to attend the Season 10 finale of American Idol. On hand were Adam Lambert (who has apparently gone from experimenting with the hair on his face, to experimenting with the hair on his head) and boyfriend Sauli Koskinen, David Archuleta, “Before He Cheats” performer Carrie Underwood, Kris Allen, David Cook, Pia Toscano, James Durbin, Haley Reinhart and, of course, finalists Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina. Check out all the excitement from the red carpet — including Jennifer Lopez who was clearly the most jazzed of everyone to be there (see the pics, you’ll see what we mean). More »

Kris Allen will be part of a huge Fox series' finale in a few weeks, but it won't be the one that made him a household name. Rather,
"Still Got Tonight," the
American Idol winner's upbeat ballad
he co-wrote (with Andrew Frampton and Steve Kipner) for Matthew Morrison's
self-titled solo album (out tomorrow) will be performed by Morrison on
Glee's May 24 Season 2 finale.

MTV's Jim Cantiello was on a Skype video chat with Kris Allen when a special visitor popped onto his screen — Matthew Morrison! Kris had apparently snuck into Matt's trailer in Los Angeles, and the two singers, who had just collaborated in a song for Morrison's
debut album, finally got to meet one another. See the two guys discuss
"Still Got Tonight" below.

Matthew Morrison is unveiling the second single off his
self-titled debut album, "Still Got Tonight", and the uptempo love ballad comes with a little surprise — it was co-written by
American Idol Season 8 winner Kris Allen. How much do you want to bet Fox brought these two fellas together to create some
Idol/Glee synergy in the studio? Listen to the song below.
