ACM Nominees: Kenny Chesney, Lady Antebellum Lead The Pack
Thu Jan 26 2012 by Robbie Daw
Luck was on Lady Antebellum's side when it came time for this year's Academy Of Country Music Awards nominees to be announced. The band scored six nods, thanks to their LP Own The Night (up for Album Of The Year) and radio smash "Just A Kiss" (a Song Of The Year contender). But it's country gent Kenny Chesney who leads all his peers with nine nominations. The ceremony, which is to be hosted by Voice coach Blake Shelton and Rebe McEntire, will be broadcast live from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on April 1. Mon Jan 16 2012 by Idolator Staff
Is Obama a huge Maroon 5, Glee, and Black Eyed Peas fan? Maybe, maybe not — but he does want their endorsement on his 2012 re-election. The Commander-in-Chief already has stars like Lady Gaga on his team, but that didn't stop him from releasing a "wish list" of celebrities he'd like on board as he bids for a second term. Amongst names we might easily expect to find here, such as B.o.B., Jay-Z, and Alicia Keys, there are such diverse acts as Arcade Fire, Lady Antebellum, the Jonas Brothers, Janelle Monae, Ricky Martin, Regina Spektor, and Vampire Weekend. (Kelly Clarkson was apparently already spoken for.) Check out the full list of names below. More »

Adele Unsinkable As She Nears ‘Titanic’ Soundtrack’s Stretch On Album Chart
Wed Jan 4 2012 by Robbie Daw
It's a relatively quiet week on the Billboard Top 200, as sales drop in the post-holiday season and Michael Buble's Christmas and Justin Bieber's Under The Mistletoe plunge down the chart like discarded ornaments. That said, Adele's Grammy-nominated sophomore set 21 soldiers on and caps the album roundup for a 14th non-consecutive week after another 144,000 copies were sold. It's still the most weeks spent at #1 since the Titanic soundtrack's 16-week reign in 1998. And with awards season momentum behind her, Adele could very well capsize Titanic's title.
