With the amount of pop stars in attendance at Saturday night’s NBA All-Star game you would have thought L.A.’s Staples Center was holding the Grammy Awards Part II. Basketball fans (and lovebirds) Jay-Z and Beyonce sat side-by-side to take in the game — though Jigga spent a lot of time staring at his smartphone. Rihanna sat courtside next to now international film star Justin Bieber before taking the stage for her 12-minute halftime performance, leaving Biebs to catch up with Lenny Kravitz just a few seats over. MJ’s ‘Michael’ Track Listing Features Akon, 50 Cent And Lenny Kravitz

It's unfortunate that Michael Jackson's Michael (due December 14), the first album of new tunes from the pop star in nine years, has been already tainted by unhappy fans disappointed with the quality of what Sony and MJ's estate swear is the King of Pop's vocals on "Breaking News". Not a great way to kick off a highly anticipated release, but hopefully the lead single "Hold My Hand", a duet Michael recorded with Akon in 2007, will make up for it. While it's surprising that a full-on compilation of unreleased Michael Jackson material has yet to materialize, we can probably at least rest assured that we'll be encountering the occasional song leak here and there.
And, lo and behold, over the weekend Michael Jackson fans were treated to what's purported to be a new-ish track from the late King Of Pop, titled "Another Day." The song—which is a cover of Lenny Kravitz's 2004 single "Storm"—was posted on the Jacko fan site MJ Star on January 2. Have a listen to "Another Day" and "Storm" below. More »

The truth quotient of the rumor that Lenny Kravitz would be replacing Weiland as the lead singer of Velvet Revolver has plummeted from 38% to zero, if Kravitz’s just-issued statement to Rolling Stone is to be believed. “I know and love the Velvet Revolver guys but there is no truth to the story about me joining their band,” he told the magazine. Looks like bloggers everywhere will have this story to kick around for a little longer! But where will it go next?

One guy makes bombastic songs out of ’60s catchphrases, the other makes bombastic songs out of ’60s catchphrases. So it makes perfect sense that Lenny Kravitz would have Jason Pierce’s Spiritualized open some gigs for him in Helsinki (June 7 & 8) and Estonia (June 10). Sadly, there’s no reason to believe that this coming together will occur again in England or America, where some fans of Spiritualized might find the headliner less than respectable. But would you snootypantses recognize a Spiritualized track over one of Lenny’s based on title alone? Here’s your chance to prove you can!

Judging by the plodding ballad he premiered on the American Music Awards (you know you’re in trouble when your lighting design is the most memorable thing about your performance), Lenny Kravitz is going to need as much help as he can to promote his upcoming album It Is Time For A Love Revolution, and his record label has come up with an “innovative promotional campaign” that sounds an awful lot like the set up to a porno.
