After a multi-year absence and a long battle with Graves' disease, Missy Elliott is ready to reign again. Last year the MC popped up on J.Cole's "Nobody's Perfect", Demi Lovato's "All Night Long" and Katy Perry's "Last Friday Night (TGIF)" remix, and now MTV reports that Elliott's long-delayed album Block Party will drop this June. Aaliyah Dana Haughton died ten years ago today in a plane crash off the Bahamas, where she was filming for her "Rock the Boat" music video. A tremendous talent, Aaliyah, whose R&B prowess was behind hits like the irresistible "Back & Forth" and Grammy-nominated Timbaland collaboration, "Try Again." is being remembered with myriad blog tributes and lists, not to mention tweets from friends (Missy Elliott) artists for whom she helped pave the way (Ciara) R&B greats (Mary J. Demi Lovato has revealed the track list to her new album Unbroken, and it looks like the 19-year-old's newest release is all about introspection: song titles include "Fix A Heart", "Hold Up", and "Give Your Heart A Break". It's pretty obvious that Katy Perry is doing whatever she can do make sure she ties with Michael Jackson for most #1's from a single album, as the entertaining live performer has nabbed the no-longer-reclusive Missy Elliott for a remix of her fifth Teenage Dream single "Last Friday Night (TGIF)".
