Grammy Awards 2012: A Viewer’s Guide

Fri Feb 10 2012 by Robbie Daw
Los Angeles' Staples Center is where the 54th Grammy Awards will go down this Sunday. The CBS telecast kicks off at 8 p.m. EST, and the thought on everyone's mind is likely this: just how many statues is Britain's not-so-secret weapon Adele going to jet back to London with? Plus, will Grammy give the gift of a posthumous award to the late Amy Winehouse, who's up for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance (with Tony Bennett)? Will this be the year Skrillex becomes a household name? Also, will Chris Brown and Rihanna bump into each other? Or will they avoid each other like the plague, given they that they've been rumored to be, er, "bumping" again lately? So many questions. But let's run down what we know we're in for on Sunday. Nicki Minaj & LL Cool J Ham It Up In Grammy Promos

Thu Feb 9 2012 by Robbie Daw
After getting snippy with Taylor Swift in a set of promo spots for this Sunday's Grammy Awards, host LL Cool J is now having a few faux-testy exchanges with Best New Artist nominee Nicki Minaj. In one clip, LL gushes that the Harajuku Barbie is an artist he loves. Much to his dissatisfaction, Minaj replies that she's been listening to him since she was "a baby." Ouch! In the second promo, the "Going Back To Cali" MC beatboxes while Nicki dances around. Finally she stops and chides, "You gotta speed it up! What's up?" Seems poor LL can't catch a break with anybody. Watch below. More »

Nicki Minaj To Drop Two New Songs Next Week: “Roman Holiday” & “Starships”

Tue Feb 7 2012 by Becky Bain
We certainly hope when Nicki Minaj takes the stage at Sunday's Grammy Awards, we get "Super Bass" instead of "Stupid Hoe", if only to avoid the inevitable bleeping that will occur if the latter is performed. The nominated artist will also perform a new cut off her forthcoming album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded called "Roman Holiday", which will go on sale immediately following the show. But that tune won't be her next single — that will be a song called "Starships", which Ryan Seacrest will premiere on Monday February 13. [Via Rap-Up] More »

After we took a stab at predicting the Grammy winners in the Pop and Dance categories yesterday, we're now ready to hold our magnifying glass up the list of Best New Artist nominees. (Personally, we thought Drizzy had it in the bag.) So what newbie will take home Grammy gold in 2012? See our pick — and then have your say by voting — below! More »

Madonna Wows At Super Bowl Halftime Show (PHOTOS)

Mon Feb 6 2012 by Erika Brooks Adickman

Even if you’re a Giants fan (like Nicki Minaj), you’d have to agree that the true winner of last night’s Super Bowl was Madonna’s halftime show. The Queen not only kept to her promise of pom poms, she Vogued like a futuristic Cleopatra (with choreography from So You Think You Can Dance’s Tabitha and Napoleon D’Uomo), shuffled in ultra high heels alongside LMFAO, gave us all her luvin’, then sent us on our way with a prayer for World Peace with help from Cee Lo Green and a choir, in a scene like something out of Bill And Ted’s Excellent Adventure. Click through to relive the glorious 12-minute performance from last night (yes, even M.I.A. flipping the bird for no apparent reason). Then let us know what your favorite moment was in the comments below, or on Facebook and Twitter. More »

Naturally, the Internet at large chimed in with several opinions of the show. Catch our roundup of the reviews below! More »

Madonna’s “Give Me All Your Luvin’” Remixed By LMFAO: Listen

Mon Feb 6 2012 by Robbie Daw
Apparently the Super Bowl wasn't the only time we'll be seeing (and hearing) Madonna pair up with cheeseball dance-pop duo LMFAO. The Material Girl's upcoming album MDNA will contain a remix of "Give Me All Your Luvin'" featuring the "Sexy And I Know It" hit-makers as a bonus track. Start shufflin' down below to give the reworked track — which still features Nicki Minaj's rap, though the one by bird-flipper M.I.A. is axed — a spin! More »

Madonna’s Super Bowl Halftime Performance: Watch It Now!

Sun Feb 5 2012 by Idolator Staff
Most years, people watch the Super Bowl to see a bunch of men playing football. This year, a number of eyes are glued to TV sets primarily to see a 53-year-old woman in a gold Viking costume sing and dance — got a problem with that? (Okay, and maybe a few watched for Kelly Clarkson.) Regardless of which team emerges as the champ of Super Bowl XLVI, we declare that everyone who catches Madonna's halftime performance of "Give Me All Your Luvin'" is a winner. If you missed it — or if you, like us, would like to revisit the magic about 600 more times — catch Madonna's nipple-free Super Bowl halftime show below. More »
