
Weiland and the DeLeo brothers haven't even played the first show on their 2008 comeback tour yet, but that hasn't stopped bassist Robert DeLeo from mouthing off to
Billboard about the band heading back into the studio to
milk their current detente for all it's worth record another album. "I think new material will come probably after this tour. I think the whole thing now is kind of getting back and re-acclimating ourselves to the songs that we know. I think that's gonna make for a better atmosphere and better performances ... instead of doing a new record." Well, who knows, maybe all their problems back in the day stemmed from being cooped up in a studio together for too long. (See? Positive thinking!) I shouldn't rain on their honeymoon-after-the-second-marriage parade—instead, I should just hope that they don't get inspired by the retro atmosphere of the tour to write new songs like "Plush," but that they
do get re-inspired by "Big Bang Baby," because that song is still awesome:
