New York City’s Time Square got glam’d last night when Adam “Brand New Haircut” Lambert (along with opening acts Orianthi and Allison Iraheta) kicked off two night stint in NYC’s Nokia Theatre as part of his summer Glam Nation North American tour. The Idol runner up looked as though he just came in first place in a Mad Hatter Leather Biker contest, donning a large black top hat with a bright “A” embroidered on it, and a leather pants, and a black jacket with long fringes. We’re sure you’re wondering, yes, the “Whataya Want From Me” singer got “friendly” on stage with his bassist licking his face at one point during the show. Flip through to see the spectacle that is Glam Nation for yourself. More »

Today In ‘Idol’: Justin Bieber’s “Baby” Segment Continues To Elude And Confuse Us
Fri Apr 16 2010 by Idolator Staff
:: After sorting through the false rumors, Zap2It reports that the Bieb pre-taped a segment for the next week's "Idol Gives Back" charity episode, but it won't be his (also pre-recorded) performance of "Baby". Where is it already? [Zap2It]
:: Fresh from mentoring the Idol kids and melting our brains with his laser-powered hotness on this week's results show, Adam Lambert revealed that Allison Iraheta and film buff/guitar goddess Orianthi will be the opening acts on his tour. Could this be an even better spectacle than Kradison? [MJs Big Blog]
::Idol executive producer Cecile Frot-Coutaz adamantly denies those scurrilous rumors that Idol bosses were angling to return Paula Abdul to the show. She has had other offers, remember. [NY Daily News]

Nicki Minaj Pulls Out Of Rihanna’s Tour—We Pick Her Replacement
Wed Apr 7 2010 by Becky Bain
Ke$ha will have to take shots of Jack on her own backstage—Nicki Minaj has already pulled out of the Last Girl on Earth tour. She tweeted: "I’m sorry 2 say I will not be going out on RiRi’s tour. I’ve decided 2 use that time 4 the completion of my album. Hope u understand.” Maybe it's for the best—even if Rihanna's songs are (just barely) rated-R, Nicki's rapping has got to be considered NC-17. We're not sure how well lyrics like "maybe it's time to put this p***y on your sideburns" would go over with RiRi's younger fan base (and their parents escorting them to the show).
We'll mourn the loss of Harajuku Barbie spitting rhymes in our face from the stage this summer, but the question remains: who should replace her on the tour? Our picks below: More »

‘American Idol’: Goodbye, Lacey Brown
Thu Mar 18 2010 by Robbie Daw
We dubbed Lacey Brown's take on the Rolling Stones' "Ruby Tuesday" on American Idol this week as "not amazing," and apparently America agreed. Last night's results show proved to be the end of the line for the Amarillo, Texas native, and she became the first of the official Season 9 Top 12 to be sent packing. (Paige Miles and Tim Urban surely can't be too far behind.) But it wasn't all doom and gloom—Ke$ha (with 3OH!3 in tow), Orianthi and AI Season 7 winner David Cook were all on hand to perform on Wednesday's episode. Have a watch below.

Today In ‘Idol’: Orianthi, Ke$ha and David Cook To Rock The ‘Idol’ Stage Tonight
Wed Mar 17 2010 by Becky Bain
:: Tonight is the results show, and as much as we want to say Michael Lynche and Siobhan Magnus are definitely safe, we can't. If we can learn anything from history, it's that even our favorites stand a chance of being voted off. [Idolator]
:: There are tons of top-notch performances tonight (and we're not including the always-ingratiating group number): Orianthi sings her hit "According to You," Season 7 Idol champ David Cook rocks The Rolling Stones' "Jumpin' Jack Flash" and Ke$ha (along with 3OH!3) sing/raps "Blah Blah Blah." But why not fit in with the Rolling Stones theme and perform the Mick Jagger-referencing "TiK ToK"? [AOL]
:: Crystal Bowersox wasn't always the clear favorite—the frontrunner was bullied during her school days. [Radar Online]
:: We know the 10 songs we want to hear performed on Idol... but here are the 19 tracks that don't have a shot in hell of being performed. [BuddyTV]
:: Fox 25 profiles Siobhan Magnus back in her home city of Boston, interviewing her best friend and former drama teacher. Watch it after the jump. [via Idol Chatter] More »

Orianthi Picks Her 5 Favorite Rock Movies
Wed Mar 17 2010 by Becky Bain
Since ax-wielding Aussie musician Orianthi was featured in one of the most successful concert docs of all time, Michael Jackson: This Is It, it make sense that she would know what makes a great rock flick. In anticipation of her performance on American Idol tonight (singing "According to You" while inevitably slaying it on her guitar), we hit up the singer/songwriter for her Top 5 Favorite Rock Movies Of All Time. And she came up with an eclectic list that may surprise you. (Okay, maybe one of her picks is a little obvious, but we can't blame her for including it.) Check out some rockin' works of the big-screen below:

Orianthi And Her Guitar Are The Hottest Couple Of 2010
Tue Jan 19 2010 by Becky Bain
Aussie singer/guitarist Orianthi, the (other) star of the Michael Jackson concert doc This Is It, told Idolator back in December that she hopes fans will "see I’m serious about" playing guitar. Right, because showing off your chops while performing alongside Michael freaking Jackson might somehow not get the point across. If anyone's still fuzzy on this issue, the straightforward video for "Highly Strung" leaves zero room for doubt. We already knew Orianthi owned some pipes, but the new vid focuses solely on her ax-wielding superpowers, which are on display in a face-melting face-off with legendary 80s rocker Steve Vai. Check it out after the jump.
