Geez, Katy Perry — of all the awards shows to pull out of, the 38th annual People's Choice Awards should probably not have been at the top of your list. The no-show California girl, who is going through a divorce from soon-to-be-ex Russell Brand, swept the music categories, including Favorite Female, Favorite Song, Favorite Tour Headliner and Favorite Music Video. She also nabbed a television win for Favorite TV Guest Star, for her stint on How I Met Your Mother.

Demi Lovato looked absolutely breathtaking as she stepped onto the red carpet tonight at the 38th annual People’s Choice Awards. The humbled PCA winner turned heads in her coral gown which not only showed off the Seventeen magazine covergirl’s beloved curves, but — with help from the dress’ strapless neckline — highlighted some of the 19-year-old’s other assets as well. “Headed to the People’s Choice Awards now!!! So excited!!!!,” Lea Michele tweeted en route to L.A.’s Nokia Theater for the 38th Annual People’s Choice Awards — and with good reason, too. Not only is the Glee starlet’s series up once again for Favorite TV Comedy, but this time around the bold fashionista is also nominated for Favorite TV Comedy Actress (along side co-star Jane Lynch). The initial list of nominees for the People's Choice Awards 2012 has been whittled down, and gentlemen like Blake Shelton and the guys from Maroon 5 and LMFAO all received multiple nods. Meanwhile, the women who were singled out repeatedly include Lady Gaga, Adele, Katy Perry and Beyonce. The 2012 People's Choice Awards polls are officially open. Of the six brand new fan-nominated categories are Favorite Album Of The Year and Favorite Tour Headliner. While official nominees will not be named until November 8, Katy Perry is already leading with a whopping six noms to her name. Coming in close behind are Beyonce, Lady Gaga and Pitbull with five nods. But remember, none of this amounts to a pile of beans if your fave artist doesn't make it to the Top 5. Show choirs, domestic violence and teenage dreaming triumphed in the music categories at the Queen Latifah-hosted 2011 People's Choice Awards, which went down at L.A.'s Nokia Theater last night. And, really, you have to love a show where "'Single Ladies' Devastation" gets a trophy, right? ‘Glee’, Eminem And Lady Gaga Lead 2011 People’s Choice Nominees

The 2011 People's Choice Awards nominees are in, and Glee leads things on the music-related side. The Fox show choir hit racked up a total of five nominations (TV Comedy, TV Comedy Actor, TV Comedy Actress and two nods for guest stars Britney Spears and Neil Patrick Harris). Behind Glee are Eminem and Lady Gaga, who each scored four nominations and will compete in the Favorite Music Video and Favorite Song categories. Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, ‘Glee’ Win At 2010 People’s Choice Awards

Vampires ruled the 2010 People's Choice Awards, as Twilight nabbed wins in the Favorite Movie, Favorite On-Screen Team, Favorite Breakout Star and Favorite Franchise categories. (True Blood also proved it had bite by winning Favorite TV Obsession.)
But the Queen Latifah-hosted gig—which went down last night at Los Angeles' Nokia Theatre—also saw Lady Gaga pick up two awards, and Glee, which is also nominated for four Golden Globes, win in the Favorite New TV Comedy category. And the People named Taylor Swift, who fended off Susan Boyle to wind up with the best-selling album of 2009, as Favorite Female Artist.
