‘American Idol’: The Top 12 Rock The Rolling Stones Catalog
7:35 AM on Wed Mar 17 2010 by Robbie Daw
Believe it or not, there was plenty of "satisfaction" to be found with Rolling Stones Night on American Idol. Maybe that's what this season finally needed to kick the Top 12 contestants into gear and give the program some much-needed fireworks—a little good old-fashioned classic rock, direct from London.

‘American Idol’: The Top 12 Of Season 9 Is Revealed
8:17 AM on Fri Mar 12 2010 by Robbie Daw
What a bittersweet night Thursday was. On one hand, we finally got the Tarentino-esque women-in-prison scandalfest that is Lady Gaga and Beyonce's near-10-minute "Telephone" video. But on the other, one of our favorite American Idol contestants, Lilly Scott, was sent home, thus narrowly missing out on being part of the official Season 9 Top 12. Sometimes pop is a cruel machine, folks. Now hop below to see who else was sprawled out on the chopping block.

‘American Idol’: The Top 8 Guys Make The Judges Do The Strangest Things
7:17 AM on Thu Mar 11 2010 by Robbie Daw
Ellen ran on stage and hugged Tim Urban. Simon told Kara her critique of Aaron Kelly was "utter rubbish." And Michael "Big Mike" Lynche brought Kara to tears, leading Simon to console her with a big ol' hug. What was going on with the judges Wednesday night? Or, perhaps more importantly, what exactly were the eight remaining guys doing to get the judges so emotional?

A little rain didn’t stop Hollywood from celebrating the 82nd Annual Academy Awards. And while it’s too early to know who will take home the coveted golden Oscar statues, you can still vote with your comments on the fashion winners and losers. ‘American Idol’: The Top 10 Girls Perk Up When Siobhan Magnus Hits A High Note
7:14 AM on Thu Mar 4 2010 by Robbie Daw
You'll have to excuse us—our ears are still ringing with the sound of Siobhan Magnus literally channeling the Queen Of Soul herself by hitting a mind-blowing note while performing Aretha Franklin's "Think" last night on American Idol. Much as with the the guys on Tuesday, it was a bumpy night for the ten remaining ladies of Season 9. But with Crystal Bowersox back among the ranks after a brief hospitalization, the girls certainly gave it the old college try.

‘American Idol’ Says Goodbye To Ashley Rodriguez And Three Others
6:20 AM on Fri Feb 26 2010 by Robbie Daw
Once Ashley Rodriguez learned she was getting the boot from American Idol last night, she had to endure performing Leona Lewis' ironically-titled "Happy" one last time before saying goodbye. (Note to contestants: do not take on a song by one of Simon Cowell's proteges unless you seriously have the vocal chops to do so—which, sadly, Ashley did not.) Three other contestants bid adieu in a night where two-thirds of Kadison—Kris Allen and Allison Iraheta—swung by.

‘American Idol’: The Top 12 Guys Were Worse Than The Top 12 Girls
6:37 AM on Thu Feb 25 2010 by Robbie Daw
Wednesday night it was the guys' turn to prove their worth on American Idol. And if you thought the ladies were lacking a certain fire on Tuesday, then the men of the Top 24 must have seemed like blocks of ice. Okay, maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration. But for a season in which, only a week ago, the judges were lamenting that there were just too many talented contestants to choose from, we're suddenly left wondering if there's enough ability left in this group to merit 24 slots. So far Season 9 has us longing for Kradison.

‘American Idol’: The Top 24 Is Revealed…Sort Of
7:30 AM on Thu Feb 18 2010 by Robbie Daw
American Idol fans, it's the moment you've all been waiting for. (Actually, doesn't Ryan Seacrest say that at the beginning of every episode?) Wednesday night the remaining Season 9 contestants were finally pared down to the Top 24. There was elation. There were surprises. And there were two heartbreaking cuts that have us begging for a Wild Card save down the line.

‘American Idol’: Group Day
7:19 AM on Thu Feb 11 2010 by Robbie Daw
Ryan Seacrest didn’t describe American Idol’s first week in Hollywood as “Hell Week” for nothing. But his warning at the start of Wednesday’s Idol episode proved apt: the remaining 96 contestants sweated through the dreaded Group Day, scrambling to plan and pull off vocal arrangements and choreography with fellow contestants they had barely met. So much drama went down, our heads are still spinning. But the lesson learned for all involved was this: never, ever, ever attempt Gwen Stefani's "The Sweet Escape," Idol hopefuls.

‘American Idol’ Auditions: Best Of The Rest
7:00 AM on Thu Feb 4 2010 by Robbie Daw
The long and winding road of Season 9 auditions has now come to an end. But that didn't stop American Idol producers from reheating some leftovers and dishing out a best (and worst) of the rest episode. Overall, we saw the judges visit seven cities during the past three weeks, where 100,000 hopefuls auditioned and only 181 made it through to Hollywood. Hop below to meet a few more of the contestants you'll be seeing again—along with some wannabe crooners you thankfully won't.
