Santigold Is Clearly Not A Fan Of Lady Gaga Or Katy Perry
Wed Jan 18 2012 by Becky Bain
Santigold is offering a free download of her new single "Big Mouth", off her upcoming album Master Of My Make-Believe, but it's the video that you'll really want to pay attention to. The vid (as well as the song itself) reminds us of M.I.A.'s /\/\/\Y/\ period, what with the similar tribal/synth sounds and crudely drawn DIY animations. Another characteristic she shares with M.I.A.? Blasting pop stars, as Santigold's clip takes shots at both Lady Gaga and Katy Perry. Watch below. More »
Santigold Talks About New LP ‘Master Of My Make-Believe’ With ‘V’
Thu Jan 12 2012 by Robbie Daw
In addition to pissing off hordes of Beliebers with its androgynous pics of Justin Bieber and dolling up pop tart Sky Ferreira as an eerily-spot-on Madonna lookalike, V also managed to wrangle some details out of Santigold about her upcoming album Master Of My Make-Believe for its music issue. "It was a very lonely process. I worked with Greg Kurstin on three songs, Switch on several songs, and Dave Sitek [of TV on the Radio] on one song," says Santi White (her real name), whose first album Santogold was released way back in 2008. "I worked with Nick Zinner [of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs] a bunch on writing and he played too."

Sun May 8 2011 by Idolator Staff
Sounds like The Lonely Island is ready for something a little more intense than sipping light beer with Snoop Dogg. Now they're taking Santigold to the "After Party" — where, knowing these boys, some major shenanigans are bound to go down. The latest track to drop from the star-studded Turtleneck & Chain expertly mixes the raunchy and the ridiculous in true "Jizz In My Pants" fashion, assisted by the "Please Don't" singer with her faux-earnest 80's-throwback vocals. RSVP "yes" and join us at the "After Party" after the jump.

Tue May 18 2010 by Becky Bain
The title track from Christina Aguilera's Bionic surfaced today, and her dub-lite style on this one sounds something you'd hear on a Santigold track, that's because it is — producers John Hill and Switch (who produced Santigold's debut album) were the forces behind Christina's newest sonic experiment. As the release of David Byrne and Fatboy Slim's concept double-album Here Lies Love draws closer (it's out April 6), the onetime Talking Heads frontman has posted the video for the LP's first promo single "Please Don't"—which features Santigold on vocals—on his official site. Out With The Horns, In With Scissor Sisters And Cathy Dennis For Mark Ronson
Wed Feb 3 2010 by Robbie Daw
Grammy Award winner Mark Ronson, who produced Amy Winehouse's "Rehab," has been rounding up artists to appear on his next album. Just don't expect it to have the same retro feel of his previous LP, Version. "There's no covers, and no horns," he tells NME. "It's written with some of the people that actually wrote the songs I covered on the last album and that I didn't actually even know at the time."
Ronson let on that Scissor Sisters, Santigold, Miike Snow, Pill and Cathy Dennis are all on tap to appear on the new album, due out this spring or summer. Wait—Cathy Dennis? As in '90s pop star/American Idol theme song and "Toxic" writer Cathy Dennis? This project just got ten times more interesting! More »
