Scissor Sisters promised to whet our appetites for their
new album today, and indeed they have. "Shady Love", the deliciously sleazy new jam from the glam trash act's new album, is a departure that finds Jake Shears & Co. toying with electro experiments and rap verses. Produced by Boys Noize (their recent
mixtape partner), the song features vocals from New York singer/actress
Azealia Banks, who co-wrote the tune. Watch the trippy/adorable video for their new single below.

On Christmas Day, Lady Gaga's
Monster Ball tourmates Scissor Sisters gifted their fans with news of new material! Sadly, there was no mention of the
Fraggle Rock movie soundtrack, which Jake Shears and Babydaddy had been rumored to be working on. But there is a new song, as well as a full album, on the way.

The news that classic kids show
Fraggle Rock is being made into a movie is mildly disconcerting, though not at all surprising, being that Hollywood has made it a hobby to
adapt and modernize pretty much
anything that came out of the 80s. But prospects for the film version of the Jim Henson show just shot right up with the announcement that the Scissor Sisters have been commissioned to write the film's music.

As you could probably tell from our
Coachella round-up, we're totally enchanted by the disco funk party that is any
performance by Scissor Sisters, and we're not the only ones — electro DJ Boys Noize (who, incidentally, also played the music fest last weekend) created a Scissor Sisters mixtape full of remixes and other musical gems. The mix runs 65 minutes, so you'll have enough beats to get you straight through a good hour on the treadmill. Listen below!

While they may have given us one of the worst album covers of 2010, the Scissor Sisters won for Most Fabulous during Day 2 of Coachella. Frontman Jake Shears was clearly the best dressed in the desert in his “Filthy/Gorgous” disco-ball hoodie, as the Glambert smoochin’ singer and his pop posse turned the Mohave tent into a night club. Take your mama and check out the Night Work band’s set. More »

Idolator is spending the weekend melting away in the desert sun in Indio, California at the Coachella Music and Arts Festival (read our recap of Day 1
here). Saturday's lineup was light on the pop, but we powered through the day's rising temps to get to the climax of our Saturday — getting our disco diva on during the Scissor Sisters' late-night set. Jump below for all of the details of Day 2:

Yesterday we took a look back at the biggest fails from the pop music landscape in 2010, but we easily could have included the following 10 album covers. Whether they were bizarre, badly designed or just straight up stupid, these covers were full of fail in their own unique way. Last year’s title belonged to Cobra Starship’s grotesque Hot Mess, and although this year’s winner/loser doesn’t make us gag in the same way the punk-pop band’s tattooed lip did, it’s still a colorfully ridiculous hot mess. Flip through our gallery (in order of “Sorta Terrible” to “Are You Kidding Us?!”), and to balance things out, check back tomorrow to see some of the year’s best album cover art. More »

With the year just about wrapped up, we here at Idolator decided to get together, pore over our individual iPods and revisit the music that got us motivated in 2010. Perhaps some of the following 10 albums weren't the most
critically acclaimed, but they were ones that inspired our hopes, heart-felt dreams and repeated plays while we navigated Planet Pop here on the website each day over the past 12 months. And so, in no particular order other than alphabetical...

Want all the mind-bending visual splendor of an acid trip without the negative side effects? The
flamboyant, never-dull Scissor Sisters have found the solution in their video for “Invisible Light,” in which you’ll swear you took a hallucinogenic substance and wandered through a movie theaters back in the 70s. Watch the video after the jump (but don’t blame us if you have flashbacks later).

Lady Gaga's seemingly
never-ending Monster Ball tour just gained 12 more dates on its 2011 North American leg. And five of those will have the Scissor Sisters on board as openers, bringing the grand total of stops
featuring the two acts together to 17. (Here's hoping at least one of the nights has a Gaga/Scissters dance-off—last one standing gets a cheap thrift store tiara.) Head below to see if the glittery dance-pop fest is now coming to a city near you.
