Will Lana Del Rey’s ‘Born To Die’ Bump Adele’s ‘21′ From #1 Next Week?

Wed Feb 1 2012 by Robbie Daw
Adele's 21 is in the peak position on Billboard's Top 200 for an 18th non-consecutive week, though she may have some competition on the horizon in the form of Lana Del Rey's debut Born To Die — the standard and deluxe versions of which are occupying the top two spots on iTunes. The divisive “Video Games songstress is also tops at Amazon's MP3 store. As for this week, Adele's Grammy-nominated sophomore effort is #1 after another 116,000 in sales. More »

Justin Bieber, RedFoo, Shakira & Seal At NRJ Music Awards 2012 (PHOTOS)

Mon Jan 30 2012 by Erika Brooks Adickman

Justin Bieber, Shakira and LMFAO’s RedFoo were in Cannes this weekend for the 13th Annual NRJ Music Awards — but before they could be crowned winners, they first had to strut (or in RedFoo’s case, shuffle) down the red carpet. The sexy “She Wolf” sparkled in a strapless, glittery number despite the rainy weather, and Bieber rocked a bright blue jacket and a slicked back ‘do, as both were bestowed NRJ’s Award Of Honor. RedFoo seemed excited to be sporting his zebra fanny pack once again, or perhaps the upcoming Super Bowl performer had an inkling that LMFAO would win big: The group walked away with International Group/Duo of the Year and Music Video Of The Year for “Party Rock Anthem”. Who do you think looked best on le tapis rouge? Tell us in the comments, or on Facebook and Twitter . More »

Seal Tells Piers Morgan Why He Still Wears His Wedding Ring

Wed Jan 25 2012 by Erika Brooks Adickman
Yesterday, Seal continued his one-man campaign to win back Heidi Klum (and, ok, to promote his recent cover album Soul 2), as the Brit sat down for a chat with Piers Morgan. The pop star had nothing but wonderful things to say about his (soon-to-be ex) wife, sharing with the host, "My love for her has not waned one iota...How can you not love someone that you've spent eight years with?", calling the supermodel the "most wonderful woman in the world." We have to agree with Piers, who chimed in with, "This is making me even sadder." (Tear.) More »

Seal And Heidi Klum To File For Divorce

Sat Jan 21 2012 by Idolator Staff
Heidi Klum is about to say her most poignant "Auf Wiedersehen" yet. Following the sad news of Katy Perry's short-lived marriage with Russell Brand coming to an end, the Project Runway beauty and her musician hubby Seal have decided that they can no longer, in the immortal words of co-host Tim Gunn, "make it work" (citing irreconcilable differences). This follows a seven-year marriage and three children together. Please join us in a listen to Seal's Batman Forever soundtrack weepie "Kiss From A Rose" in memorium below. More »

Live-Blogging The “American Idol” Finale, Part II: This, Right Here, Is Our Now

Wed May 21 2008 by Maura

Welcome to our second night of live-blogging the American Idol finale, two hours of spectacle leading up to the crowning of a David as the favorite pop singer of this very phone-equipped nation. I’m watching the TV Guide Channel’s preshow, which has Kimberly Caldwell screaming a lot and Justin Guarini laughing dumbly a bunch and Janice Dickinson saying that she’s in the tank for Archie too. (For that the producers denied Danny Noriega a ticket? Hmph.) Also, apparently Simon Cowell told Justin Guarini that it was a draw while I was on the phone?! Looks like someone saw our poll! Coverage begins after the jump…

Can Seal Make Figure Skating Cool?

Wed Dec 19 2007 by mariasci

Ed. note: Last night, the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C., hosted “The Music Of Seal On Ice,” which would bring together the songs of the deep-voiced, Heidi Klum-attached crooner and the ice-skating prowess of Brian Boitano, Todd Eldredge, and Kyoko Ina and John Zimmerman (who look like they’re attacking Seal with Ina’s skate above). And lucky for us, former Idolator guestblogger Maria Sciarrino happens to be an expert on both figure skating and pop music, so we bundled her up and sent her down to the nation’s capital for a report on just what would happen when one tried to combine a Seal concert with a few jumps and spins on the ice.
