2012 is bound to be a big one for Janelle Monae, as the spunky, soulful singer is planning to tour after she
drops not one, but two new albums. ("I will release them according to my soul clock," said Monae.) Remind yourself why you can't get enough of this 26-year-old funk madame by grooving to her performances at the Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony in Oslo, Norway after the jump. (It certainly brings
us peace to know that an artist this awesome is being celebrated all over the world.)

:: Alice Cooper calls Ke$ha "an old friend", and reveals that she'll be playing The Devil on a track off his new album, called "What Baby Wants." Ah, type casting. [PopCrush]
:: According to a list making its round on the Internet (aka it's probably fake), Britney Spears' tribute at the 2011 MTV VMAs will include Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, Ke$ha, Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry, Janet Jackson and Madonna. :: Eminem's boxing drama Southpaw has been dropped from Universal. [Hip-Hop Wired]
:: Five people were killed and dozens injured when a stage collapsed at the Indiana State Fair. Sara Bareilles had just finished her set, and Sugarland were preparing for their performance when huge gusts of wind blew the stage down. Jason Aldean leads this year's just-announced CMT Music Awards with a total of four, including Video Of The Year and Collaborative Video Of The Year — the latter nod being for
"Don't You Wanna Stay," Aldean's duet with Kelly Clarkson. Another pairing that lands in the Collaborative category: Justin Bieber and Rascal Flatts, for
"That Should Be Me." Perhaps less surprising than the Bieb getting his country award recognition on is Taylor Swift's
"Mine" garnering three nominations. Head below to peek at the full list of who's up for what.
